There was no Derek at the bar tonight, much to the disappointment of the DJ. He had a while Florence + The Machine playlist organized!

So, instead of the usual glaring presence behind the bar, there was Tiny. No, he wasn't happy about it either.

In Derek's defense, he'd had a bad day so far.

What better place to spend the evening than the bar where Derek was supposed to have been working tonight?

Kate had a beer and a healthy dose of self satisfaction with how her day had gone.

Stiles had come in looking for Derek 'cause class so wasn't the place to check on his arm. Alas, no Derek, but there was a psycho at the bar. Or someone who looked like a psycho. The heavy amount of staring Stiles was doing didn't help him figure it out. Fandom was confusing.

Running out would look kind of suspicious so instead he took a seat at the bar and ordered what he usually did. Sigh, he'd look much more intimidating if he was drinking anything other than a cherry coke.

Excuse you, Stiles. She wasn't a psycho. She was just more inclined to shooting first and asking questions never.

It was all part of her upbringing.

"Do they normally let teenagers into bars here?"

"Yeah, but we're not allowed to drink alcohol," Stiles said, being as friendly as possible for someone who was inwardly freaking out. "There is a bar in town where we're allowed to drink though. It's not like there's a big risk of drunk driving when there's no cars on the island."

Ugh why can't people wear name tags, he couldn't tell if he should be giving evil eye or not.

Kate just grinned at that, leaning closer. "Did you want me to get you a beer?"

Pinkie sprang up seemingly from nowhere onto one of the bar stools, all set for an overly cheerful greeting for her good buddy Derek -- only to find him conspicuously absent.

"Oh hi!" she said instead to the lady who was also at the bar. "I'm Pinkie Pie, what's your name?" At least there was a new friend to meet!

Kate looked from the pony to her beer. Back to the pony. Beer. Pony.

"Either this is stronger than I thought, or this is a whole new kind of messed up."

She tried to be helpful.

It had been a few weeks since Clint had last checked on Derek - "checked on" meaning "making sure he wasn't doing anything bad" - and he was surprised to get to the bar and not find him there. For a moment, Clint just stood and looked around, wondering if he'd gotten his days of the week wrong.

"Hello there," Kate said, zeroing in on the new piece of eye candy in the bar.

On one hand, Clint had a girlfriend. On the other hand, he also had a very good set of eyes. "Hey there," he said with a smile. "I don't suppose you've seen the bartender around tonight, have you?"

After hightailing it from the house, Mike had considered going to the police. That was the reasonable thing to do when someone broke into your house and talked about burning it down, right? Going to the police? Well, he hadn't. He hadn't been sure what the protocol was here, and whether Derek would have gotten into trouble as well.

And so he'd just kind of... stayed out. He was still staying out. But he'd come to the club to check with Derek to see whether the coast was clear. So, he wasn't the happiest to not find his glowering housemate here.

Sorry about all the questions you couldn't really answer apart from how you hadn't seen Derek around, Tiny.

Yeah, but Mike also had perfectly functioning ears, so. He was trying to decide whether ahe actually sounded familiar, or he was just being paranoid after a rough day.

Basically after the last week or so, Kitty was here just to check up on Derek. Aaaand he wasn't here. So she took a seat, ordered a soda, and decided to give it a few minutes in case he was just running late.
