Outside the radio station- Thursday morning after radio
There'd been arguing. At least, Jaye thought there'd been arguing. She was dealing with squirrels, after all. Either way, she'd yelled and gestured and they'd squeaked and gestured back at her, and then they all stalked off in a group. Deciding she'd let them cool off and wondering why this was her life, she started out of the station to go home.
What she found was a line of squirrels, all carrying badly-spelled signs reading things like "NO PAY, NO WORK" and "WHY IS ALL THE RUM GONE?", blocking the entrance of the station by marching in a circle in front of it.
"Hey, hey!" Jaye said. "This is private property!" No, it wasn't.
The squirrels raised their signs defiantly.
Jaye frowned harder. "Fine. I'll just find other people to do your job. That's right, I'm gonna find scabs." That sounded gross.
She stepped over the picket line, and got two steps beyond it when she felt a few walnuts hit the back of her head. She rubbed the back of her head and continued on, hoping there was someone who'd help out.
[As of now, the squirrels are officially on strike. Feel free to mod the teal deer and Japanese squirrels in your posts, as well as the squirrels picketing. Just know that if you cross the picket line, they will pelt you with nuts.
Post can be open for reactions, or interaction if you don't mind SP!]

"Your spelling's dreadful. Now move out of the way, my good creatures, and let me through with the mail," she informed one squirrel. When all of them ignored her, she sighed and stepped over them only to get pelted with walnuts. "Well, that was stupid. Where was the point in that?" she demanded, and got hit a few more times for her trouble.
Still, when she left she had a pocketful of nuts for a midday snack -- and a few ideas for how to possibly capitalize on this whole rum shortage if it went on much longer. That would keep her occupied for the rest of the day.

Hey, didn't she know these guys?
Chitter! And little punchy arms in imitation! Of Whatever! Furry people unite! Or Untie, whatever those signs said!
