Galactica Point, Early Saturday Morning

Atton hadn't been able to sleep. First because the thrill of it all wouldn't leave his body - the messed-up chemistry of his mind churning lust through anger until it was something else completely. Then the lust had receded, and with it the anger had dulled again, returning to him the clarity that had been forced on him a year ago.

Now his chest hurt and his mind was full of images of blood and death and pain.

It hadn't taken him much effort to climb up onto the wall by Galactica Point, dangling his legs over the edge, his feet hovering high above the crashing waves below. He rolled his shoulders, slipping his jacket more securely over his shoulders. He could tell he was still kind of drunk, but not in the fun way - just in the way that gave you a head that felt like it was a brick.

He'd just hang out here for a while, staring into the waves, not sure if he felt morose, afraid, guilty, or just annoyed.

But that wasn't new. Neither was his disinterest in figuring it out.

If it was up to Sia, she'd be perfectly fine putting a little bit of distance between herself until there were more than a couple hours to feel normal again, but apparently Fandom had other plans. Plans that included a daughter, apparently. So after returning Vitor to the room, Sia and Syanna headed out to find him.

On the plus side, this probably took a little bit of the edge off the potential weirdness from Thursday. Or maybe it made it much, much worse.

"Atton?" Sia called.

"Yes, of course that'll work," Sia returned. "There's someone here you should meet."

"Hello, dad," Syanna said calmly, looking up at him. "You could've made yourself a lot harder to find."

"Fandom thinks it's funny again," Sia explained.

No offense, Syanna. But... their brains.

Syanna sighed, crossing her arms. "Just get down here and we'll explain," she said. "Don't sulk."

"I refuse to answer any questions until you're down here," Sia said.

In part because Sia wasn't hugely comfortable with him being somewhere that he could jump from if this got too weird.

Because it was probably going to get too weird.

"Syanna Fel," the girl said evenly, crossing her arms. "I'm your daughter. I'm here temporarily."

"It's some sort of possible future thing," Sia added for clarification, and if she seemed the tiniest bit uncomfortable saying that, well. Reasons.

While her instinct was to try and reach for him as he went by, Sia knew that was probably a bad one and let him pass her.

"Atton, stay and talk about this."

"Atton!" Syanna called after him, because she knew 'dad' probably wouldn't get the best reaction.

"If we trip him up, he won't get very far," she added to Sia.

"Let him go," Sia advised. "He'll just be angry. Best to give him some time to deal with it first."

Which was disappointing, since Sia still had to deal with this, and he was missing out on meeting someone who seemed pretty great, but it was about what she'd expected.
