The Devil's Nest, Friday Evening
After missing a week because she was fluttering the island as a bat, and then missing another week because she'd been kidnapped to some bizarre dungeon, Allie was grateful that things were back to normal.
Or at least as normal as things could be when the DJ was blaring New Kids on the Block.
It was almost enough to make Allie reconsider her stance on not eating him for dinner.
[OCD free today!]

It was going to be required if Shepard stories were on the menu.

"So it's Friday. I'm wondering if we should hide for the weekend."

She settled into the seat next to him, a bottle of True Blood in her hand.

Kaidan paused. Took another swig of his drink. Then set it back down on the bar.
"But you wanted to hear about Shepard."

Maybe he was stalling. He wasn't sure.

"What's all this?" she asked, casting a dubious look in the DJ's direction.

"So how are you doing? Did you get caught up in that mess last week?"

Allie shook her head. "No, I missed that fortunately. I was a bat for a few days instead."
no subject
She burst out laughing, albeit briefly.
"God, didn't you just have a stroke of luck then."
no subject
She took a sip from the bottle of True Blood she'd been nursing all night. "The fact that it got me out of dealing with any impossible children was just an extra bit of luck."
no subject
So apparently she was mildly envious, then.
"That week wasn't so bad," she admitted. Well. She'd had fun. "Until the kids showed up, that is."
no subject
"One showed up for you?"
