Once the gremlin bite had worn off yesterday, Derek had known he would have to face people after all the... hugging that had occurred. Oh god, there was so much of it.

But, who wanted to do that? Not Derek.

Which would be why he was attempting to look busy taking inventory behind the bar. Yeah. That was totally going to work.

"Hey cuddlebunny." Reference to yesterday and Derek's teeth! Boom, two points.

STILES, YOU SUCKED.

"No," Derek informed him, slamming that glass of cherry coke down on the bar.

"Oh yes," Stiles said, smiling at the cherry coke. You were so whipped, Derek. "I'm told we looked adorable while we were cuddling."

Well Scott said so. Peter seemed upset about it.

Peter would always be upset by it, let's be real.

"Why did you take pictures?"

"Because it was hilarious?" Duh, Derek. "Well it was terrifying first, then hilarious."

"It was a gremlin bite." Clearly.

"Really? I had no idea," Stiles said, pretending to look surprised. "But you're usually so cuddly and affectionate!"

"I will bite you, I swear to god."

"That's not really threatening coming from a beta," Stiles informed him. "Though the prospect of you drooling all over me is kind of gross."

SHUT UP WITH YOUR LOGIC. "Yeah, but it will still hurt."

"Do you really want to put your mouth on me?" he asked. "I probably taste gross."

Though he was fairly sure he would taste better than Gerard.

"You smell gross," Derek granted him. Seriously guys, this was your conversation?

"What? I do not!" This was a completely mature conversation between two mature people. "You should be honored to smell me, buddy."

Damn it, guys.

"I'm really not."

"Do I really smell bad?" Stiles asked, pulling up his shirt to take a whiff of it.

"Yes." Derek batted at his hand. "Put your shirt back down."

No one wanted to see that.

"What? Oh." He hadn't even noticed. "My pale, undefined stomach is too much for you, I understand."

"How will I hold myself back." Oh, by thinking about his own bad ass abs.

"I think I liked you better when you were all huggy," Stiles said. "You should consider a permanent change."

"Yeah, I noticed that after you went limp and started to play a game on your phone halfway in," Derek replied in a deadpan.

"I apparently don't have your stamina when it comes to hugging." He was okay with that, oddly enough.

Stiles. Stiles, rethink that statement.

Derek smirked, crossing his arms over his chest at it. "Yeah. I'm sure your stamina is lacking."

"Hey! I didn't mean it like that!" You were gross, Derek, so gross. "I have plenty...well, okay, I can't say for sure but I'm probably fine with...that. Don't be gross."

NO, HE FELT BETTER ABOUT HIMSELF NOW.

"You're the one that said it."

"About hugging!" Stiles whined. "Hugging is different. I think."

"Less complicated," Derek suggested.

"Shut up!" You were the worst, Derek, why was he even friends with you? "Don't tell anybody I said that I have enough problems trying to get someone to sleep with me."

Because he bought you nice things in an attempt to be cruel? "Yeah, because I chat with your potential dates so much."

"Well I do put in an effort to keep my potential dates far away from you," he said. "It's nothing personal. Oh wait, yes it is."

"Love you too, snookums," Derek replied, pouring himself a glass of water.

They had a perfectly healthy fake relationship.

Kitty had plans tonight, but she had to send this text. Had to.

HUUUUUUGS

UGH.

I hate you.

You do not. You wouldn't hug me to the point of creepiness if you hated me!

To be fair, it started out creepy.

It was a gremlin. That text was shortly followed by, You better not have taken pictures.

Didn't even think about it.

Then OMG DOES SOMEONE HAVE PICTURES??

Now she had to talk to Stiles. And get those sent to her.

NO.

Yes.

She sent off a text. Not to Derek.

Sure okay I totally believe that.

Leave Stiles alone. Was followed by, I hate you.
