The beach- Thursday evening

Jaina had been back in Fandom for about a day, but she'd been quiet. As much as hitting things and causing some minor destruction in the name of the Jedi had taken her mind off of things for a while- and been kind of fun- as soon as things quieted down she was stuck with her thoughts again. So then it was back to things like spending as much time as possible training. She was determined to snap herself out of this as soon as possible, and that meant staying so busy that she just moved past it. Totally healthy, right?

So after her training, and a shower, and dinner... she'd decided she didn't want to stay in her apartment and went for a run around the island. When she got to the beach, she headed up closer to the water and took a seat in the sand for a little break.

Did she know people used to call this Emo Beach? Because it was fitting.

"SOMEONE ON EMO BEACH! SOMEONE ON EMO BEACH!" Patrick shouted as he started to run to see who it was.

And then he stopped running and slowed to a walk. Then he stopped for a moment to catch his breath because screw you, running in sand was tough if you weren't a super fit actor or athlete or whatever. And then he started walking again. "SOMEONE ON EMO BEACH! CHEER UP!"

He was still too far away to really make out who it even was.

Jaina frowned, looking back to see who was yelling what about something she could have sworn was 'emo beach.' "What?" she called.

"HAVE A HUG, SAD PERSON!" Patrick said, finally hiking his way over and IMMEDIATELY going for the hug.

Jaina was so startled by the fact that this was even happening that she didn't move away fast enough. Though she wasn't hugging back.

"What are you doing?"

"Making it so that you don't have to call the waaaaaaaambulance to make you less sad," Patrick said. "There there."

And she wasn't, but this was weird enough that she would totally pretend.

"See? Hugs make everything better," Patrick said, hanging on for just a few more seconds. And then he let go. "At least that's what my mom says. I mean, I don't believe her because then why is my dad still a janitor? Can't he hug himself into a promotion? I'm pretty sure the courts would say no since he works in a school."

"But it's still worth a shot. For you, not for him. Because the courts."
