The Park, Saturday Afternoon
There were some days, especially at this time of year, where sitting inside in an office all day would be a horrible waste. That was Jonothon's reasoning, at least, for saying to hell with Boards budgets and script-reading and actually working today, grabbing an acoustic guitar and a bag of stale bread, and making his way to the park. The weather was still nice, or nice again, where he was sitting, looking at it from the other end of a winter in Glacia that had run through Fandom's summer. The ducks were... still jerks, but that was a state of being shared by pretty much every duck, he was sure.
It seemed like a good day to sit on a park bench, alternating between throwing bread to the birds and playing songs he hadn't played in forever, things he didn't often think to play, starting with Disney songs and moving along to the Beatles. He didn't sing along with any of it, his voice was still too raw and he never had before, but most of what he played was perfectly recognizable, with or without the lyrics.
Sometimes, you just needed to spend a day doing nothing in particular. Especially if there had once been a time when that nothing had meant almost everything to you.
[OOC: Open park! Jono will happily share bread for the ducks or take requests, today. It's that kind of day.]

There was a cupcake placed next to that stick to lure people in.
Yeah, he was actually doing this. This was a thing that the Ice King was doing in the park.

"Are you having much luck with that, mate?"
Already, a few ducks were eyeing that cupcake, at least.
no subject
"Oh, you'll see."
No luck would happen. None.

"... What are you trying to catch, exactly?"
Jono, look at your life. Look at your choices. Do you really want to know?
no subject
"A princess." Because the island had to be overrun with them, right? "Gotta prove to those horrible students that it can be done."
no subject
He was pretty sure he had at least one in his class, but he wasn't going to be telling this bloke about her.
no subject
So. Enjoy being poor and simple.

"... My. So there is. However did I miss that."
Jono even looked in the direction of the castle. Yes. Yes, that was definitely a castle. How could he possibly have been so mistaken, all this time.
"And it's a requirement that every castle have a princess?"
no subject
Yes. That was exactly what they were doing.

"Marry them, duh." Gosh, they were lucky Jono wasn't a teacher. Waaaaaait a minute....
no subject
"So... you have many princess brides, then?"
Jono had to check. He wasn't seeing a wealth of them, but you really never knew, did you?
no subject
"I wouldn't be looking for one if I had it, would I?" He totally would. It was an addiction.
no subject
"How am I to know? Perhaps you're looking to collect the full set, or something. Some people can't stop at just one."
Princesses. Potato crisps. Same thing.
no subject
"What are you trying to say?" the Ice King demanded, turning that stink eye on Jono now. Feel the force of the stink.
no subject
"Oh, you know. Just that some people really enjoy their princesses, mate."
Wink wink, nudge nudge. From afar. Because of said stink.

Meanwhile, a duck as making it's way toward that cupcake.
"Hey! Get out of there!"
no subject
Sometimes, Jono enjoyed this island too much.
"Maybe that's why you haven't caught one, mate. You keep running off the legitimate ones."
Never mind that that duck in particular was a drake.

Also, lampshades. It had been one hell of a party.
no subject
Could be the creep factor.
no subject
"Perhaps your invitation got lost in the mail?"
There had been posters.

Jono grabbed a handful of bread and chucked it at the ducks, luring them away from the cupcake box... trap. Thing.
"Perhaps next time, hm?"
no subject
With blackjack. And princesses.
no subject
Especially Jono, who was only invited to the kind of parties that had fireworks. And mudslides. And cats in tiaras.
no subject
"They better be!"
no subject
"Of course," he added, "it would be an awfully boring party for you if nobody else were invited."
no subject
"And the ladies."
no subject
Those poor, poor ladies.
