Rehearsal: Jekyll & Hyde, The Boards, Sunday Evening
Jonothon was pinching the bridge of his nose as he opened the Boards up for the first actual rehearsal for Jekyll & Hyde. It had been all too long since he'd done something with this, but between the autumn break overlapping two Sundays in a row and then Homecoming weekend, there really hadn't been much he could do about it.
"Right, so, rehearsals are actually starting significantly later than I had hoped they would," he said from his spot sitting on the edge of his stage to his performers and backstage hands- whoever the hell had showed up today. "Next show we put on, I'll be better about taking the school's schedule into consideration, since most of you are students. In the meantime, we rehearse like hell every Sunday to get this thing onto the stage, hm?"
There was a pause, and a moment of embarrassed silence from Jono before he pressed on.
"Speaking of getting onto the stage, I'm going to have to actually change the date of the show itself. Apparently what you get when a Brit and a Transylvanian choose a show date is an opening night the day after Thanksgiving." Because Jono failed at American holidays forever. "Would any of you be opposed to the performance being on the thirteenth of December, instead? I know I'm tempting luck holding Jekyll & Hyde on a Friday the thirteenth, especially around here, but options otherwise are few and far between without skipping along into Christmas."
With all of that finally addressed, he could actually get into the rehearsal part of this rehearsal.
"Today, I'd like to do a read-through of the script," he continued. "Just to get everybody familiar with their characters. Next weekend we can start attacking this thing scene-by-scene, and hopefully make some headway on the first act, but for now just knowing what we're in for is the aim of the game. So, each of you grab a script, make yourselves comfortable, and we can start reading."

Arrive/Mingle!
It made sense to Jono.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Ugh, if they were going to have drinks, couldn't they at least have good drinks?
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
She was sniffling near the lemon water and wondering if perhaps she could take a nap without anyone noticing.
(still sick and exhausted so have some METHOD RP, BITCHES)

Though, really, Jono's 'brb dying' face was kind of hilarious.

Did Zeela care that Cecil probably had no idea who she was or how she knew him or Foucault?
No. No she did not.

Though this really wasn't a birdsitting service, Jono was pretty sure Joni could hold her own.
... Even if she was puny.

Which . . . wouldn't do anything for your voice. But would probably at least do something for your energy level!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
But she was pretty preoccupied today, both with squee, and with going through her script and muttering to herself about how she wanted to sing each character. Because, sure, the script gave her the words and she knew there were tunes but you could sing the same song about a million different ways with the same tune.
And wondering how to make her manager leave the opening night, well, open. If she hadn't been so devoted to the law, Karina would consider blackmail. Alas.
Rehearse!
Re: Rehearse!
*Umm, Zee?* Zhahar was sounding a little panicked. *Could you go back and check the cast list again?*
=Huh? Oh yeah, fine, fine.=
She ambled back over to the cast list and started reading again, a little more interested now that she had a rough idea of who was who. And then burst out laughing.
Re: Rehearse!
A long moment of silence.
*I can't sing!!! How do I have two roles in a musical when I can't even sing?!?!*

Did she have an aversion to playing butlers? He wouldn't blame her, after the last show...

OOC!
Anyhow, we were wondering if anyone involved would be interested in preplaying a few scenes here and there for the show night, or if they'd rather just do it the way it's always been done, with whatever people can chuck out there slowplayed from the Friday into the weekend?
And does the new date work for people? I tried to steer it away from Christmas as much as possible, but I have no idea what other toes I might be stepping on as a result.
Re: OOC!
Re: OOC!
Given my computer woes, I am also SUPER GOOD with preplay. *shakes fist at computer*
