Apparently the DJ had figured out what the fox says. Whether or not that was any of the noises from that ridiculous song...

Debatable.

Derek was just glad he didn't have to sit through that song one more time. Because he would have ended up throwing a bottle of vodka at the DJ. And he would not have been sorry about it.

At all.

It's dark so eeeeeaaaaarly.

Vodka had better not get thrown here! After yesterday's shift, there wasn't really any way Kitty wasn't going to show up today, sitting at the bar and asking, "Have you seen Stiles today? Also hi."

HI, KITTY.

"...no. He usually stops by, though."

"Okay," she said, nodding. "Did you happen to hear radio this morning?"

No, he'd been trying and failing to out together a ref costume for class. DAMN IT, PINKIE PIE.

"No. Why?"

She was tempted to tell him to pretend he hadn't heard it from her, but it had made radio so it probably didn't matter. "He kind of spaced out on me at the bar yesterday. It got me kind of worried."

And look how Derek zeroed in on you, Kitty. It was almost predatory. "What happened?"

"One second he was doing his homework, the next it was like he was in some sort of trance. He just kept staring and writing the same thing over and over till he finally snapped out of it," she said. "Have you seen that before?"

She was hoping for 'yes but it's not a big deal and everything's fine.'

"What was he writing?" Derek asked, mouth pulled into a thin, unhappy line.

She was gonna take that as everything not being fine.

"'Wake up.' He thought he'd dozed off," Kitty said.

"Another nightmare." He was going to be so mad at you, Stiles. AND ON HIS BIRTHDAY, TOO.

"Oh, he was awake," she said. "Unless he's taken to sleepwalking..."

"The last one was a waking nightmare." He thought, at least. "Keep an eye on him."

"Oh, definitely," Kitty said quickly. "So you have seen this?"

"He had a panic attack. I was downstairs and only caught the end of it."

This was not helping her concern. "And it wasn't just a regular panic attack? I know he has those."

"I don't think so," Derek said slowly.

Kitty frowned. "I knew he was having nightmares, but I had no idea it was this bad."

Not that she was feeling guilty for helping cause it or anything.

GOOD. BECAUSE DEREK DIDN'T APPROVE OF ANY OF THIS.

"They come and go," Derek muttered, turning to pour himself a glass of water.

"Has it been happening since we got back from Beacon Hills?" For some reason she thought Derek would know.

"Yeah." A lot. Because he stayed over a lot. No reason.

Yeah, Kitty felt awesome. "I want to go back in time and beat that darach senseless."

And Deaton. Ohh, if she ever saw Deaton again for even suggesting the drowning thing, he was getting punched.
