Devil's Nest, Friday Evening

It's not that Allie had been avoiding people after last weekend's shenanigans, she'd just put a little extra effort into being hard to track down. But Friday eventually rolled around which meant being at the bar for her shift. Tiny was grumbling about his holiday travel plans while the DJ seemed to have some sort of holiday theme going on.

Éponine was going to be on SP for a while wasn't in the mood to talk much about last weekend herself, so that wasn't going to be a concern when she came in after her work shift.

"How dark it is before I even get home in the evenings now! Good heavens," she remarked, half-flopping onto a stool. "I don't mind the dark, of course, but it makes the day seem as if it's been much longer. somehow."

"I wouldn't really know," Allie admitted. "But I don't mind the early dark. It means more time for me to be out and about."

[SP is awesome. We're about to watch the extended Hobbit for quality family time.]

"Only fair for you to have your turn, hmm?" Éponine asked, tracing random patterns on the countertop with her finger. "Only you've got to share the nighttime with a few people. Much quieter that way, isn't it?"

"Much," she agreed with a nod. "Especially when you hang out with the deer in the Preserve. They don't grumble about travel plans. Not like some people."

Éponine huffed. She'd been around this place often enough to suspect that Tiny was the talked-about party here, and she gave him a scolding look.

"At least some people --" and she switched her attention back to Allie even if she was pointedly loud, having decided to hazard her guess -- "have got cause to make plans. I don't blame you for finding the deer better company. They've better manners than some people, goodness knows."

Grumbling about travel plans, grumbling about his love. As a general rule, the deer were always better company. "Just don't talk too much. They start to crowd in too close then."

"So how are you? Quiet week mostly?"
