Jono was looking perhaps slightly tense today as he sat on the stage at the Boards, waiting for his cast and crew to gather.

"Right. So, it's not Homecoming weekend or the mid-semester break. You're not small children, and we've had a grand total of two regularly-scheduled rehearsals so far. Three if we count that Wednesday we opened the doors hoping to make up for last weekend. Next weekend is Thanksgiving weekend, and we have less than three weeks before show night, which, possibly very appropriately, is Friday the Thirteenth. If you're not all off-script by now I'm going to spend the next few rehearsals drinking. Copiously."

Whose bright idea was it to do a musical over the fall? His own? Damn it.

"This week, we're going to go over the blocking for act one. Next weekend we'll cover act two and I'll pray you're not all off-island for the holiday, and then we'll be going over the music one last time on the eighth. That'll have to double as our dress-rehearsal before the show that Friday night. And with a rehearsal schedule like that, it's a wonder I'm not drinking now."

It wasn't that he didn't have faith in his actors. It was more that Jonothon had been living on the island long enough to know just how screwed he probably was, here.

"So. Act one." He clapped his hands. "Places!"

Jackson was fine with what was there. It was being here in the first place that he really wanted to object to, so the rest was all a bit whatever to him.

He got himself some lemon water.

Lemon water! Karina liked it, though cucumber water was better, god.

She was here, she knew her stuff, that was clearly enough.

Did cupcakes count as fancy? Because Pinkie brought cupcakes.

Pinkie could pretty much always be counted upon to bring cupcakes.

Act one, from the script! So get into character and we'll run through the blocking, music and all!

With a near-perfect memory, Hannibal had been off-script after he read the thing once. He wouldn't have any problems remembering blocking, either. His singing voice might leave something to be desired, but he wasn't going to let it stop him from being as good as he was capable.

Cecil could remember lines, at least! Mostly. He was very good at making things up to fill in the gaps!

Okay, mostly he was just hoping he didn't step on anybody's toes.

Mercy knew all her lines and was pretty good on the music.

Where there was a slight mishap with the costumes, but hopefully that will be fixed by opening night.

Hopefully.

Billy had his script and his highlighters and was trying not to hum along too loudly to bother anyone.

"What happened to my costume?" Dubious Zeela was dubious.

"Tiny children, apparently," Jono sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I'll have it replaced before the thirteenth if it kills me."

It was completely possible that it would kill him.

That was coffee that Jonothon was drinking as he sat in the audience and oversaw the rehearsal. Completely coffee, and you couldn't prove otherwise.

Ahahahahahahah this semester has not been conducive to rehearsals AT ALL. Which is fine by me, because Jono in going-to-kill-you-all-if-you-don't-know-your-lines-yet mode amuses me all too much.

I just opened my friends' page and went, 'It was Sunday AGAIN??'
