Student Council Potluck Thanksgiving, Community Center, Thursday

Despite all the years she'd lived in Fandom, Zoe was still a little vague on some of the details of Thanksgiving. However, she did have enough information that she was fairly certain the holiday wasn't celebrated with glitter, and yet, once the community center was decorated for the potluck, there were glitter-covered paper cutouts of turkeys all over the place.

Really, she just wasn't going to question it anymore, and hopefully anyone who was still around for the holiday would be too busy enjoying the food enough to notice.

[For anyone who's still in Fandom for Thanksgiving! Up early so I don't forget when I wake up!]

Evan didn't remember Thanksgiving being quite so sparkly, either. But he was kind of getting used to this sort of thing by now.

He arrived with a large bowl of cranberry sauce spiced with orange zest and nutmeg, and actually looked pretty proud of how it had turned out. He... hadn't actually been expecting it to work.

Theo had thought of going home for Thanksgiving but he didn't want to bother Thom or Kiori on days where they should hang out with their families. And his own parents were out of the country so he stuck around the school.

It was cool they were doing something though so he came down to get some food and hang out.

Topher didn't care about celebrating the founding of his country or whatever Thanksgiving was supposed to be about. He was just here to drop off his culinary contribution, which was Hot Pockets, and to eat some of the free food, including, possibly, the Hot Pockets. He wasn't really a turkey fan.

Flick was pretty sure he couldn't remember ever celebrating a Thanksgiving. Joi might have mentioned it once or twice but he'd never sat down to a traditional meal. Still, free food was free food and he wasn't doing anything else so he'd come down to at least have some food.

Being thankful and grateful and giving? Probably wasn't going to happen but he'd try and not spill his cynicism on anyone.

But what if Isabelle wanted to get glitter on herself, huh? Because she adored glitter. But okay, maybe not enough to try and get any on her from the decorations on purpose.

Thanksgiving was another one of those holidays that meant very little to her, but there'd been the promise of food. That was enough for her to show up.

Jessica had enough glitter on herself from working on the jive turkeys. Yes, that was what she was calling them in her head. Deal with it.

She brought some old fashioned wheat cakes based on a Parker family recipe. She didn't cook much, but she figured she could manage that.

Jim arrived, bearing food, and ready to have a meal. He figured he'd eat a little and then maybe go take a nap. Or watch football. Sounded like a good day to him.

Alex never really celebrated Thanksgiving before, so this was all new to her. She had been looking forward to spending the day with Nikita, but she got called away on a mission to save some public figure.

She was happy to spend the day here, too.

Isaac hadn't had a proper Thanksgiving in years so he didn't feel like he was missing out on anything regarding the holiday. He was, however, lazy when it came to making food for himself so he showed up at the pot luck just for a free meal.

Cade was there because free food was good, all right? He'd even brought something!

...Cocoa Puffs were totally Thanksgiving food and he'll stab anyone who said otherwise.

There was definitely turkey on the table, along with whatever food everyone else decided to bring. And no, no one would be turned away for not bringing anything. There'd definitely be enough to share!

Evan deposited his bowl of cranberry sauce on the table, gave a brief grin, and then helped himself to some turkey and other fixings. Then he found himself a table to sit at and quietly eat, side-eyeing a glittery turkey that was staring him down as he did so.

Theo had managed to remember to bring something. It wasn't much but he thought a store bought pie would at least be edible? He hoped so at least because no one wanted him to cook.

He put it on the table with the other food.

And no, trying them was not advisable. They were kind of... salty. And just generally suspicious. But at least she'd tried, right?

Flick had brought...nothing. He was fine with admitting that. He wasn't a cook and he hadn't made it out to buy anything so he'd brought nothing but himself.

Oh well. He stole food all the time. This day would be no different.

Just in case people needed some healthy pancake-ish things, Jessica put out her wheat cakes (http://www.fifteenspatulas.com/whole-wheat-pancakes/). Think of it as a healthy dessert rather than a hippie breakfast food.

Jessica would be focusing on turkey for herself, of course, because that was what Thanksgiving was all about. Eating food other people made and being thankful for it.

Jim hadn't cooked but he'd brought some freshly made stuffing from a place in town. It'd cost a little extra to get it made today but he thought it'd be worth it.

He dumped the pot on the table and took his seat, ready to eat.

Alex brought Rice Krispie treats...that she bought at the store. So they probably weren't as good. Still, they were better than anything she would have cooked.

Éponine wouldn't turn down free food on a normal day, so obviously today was no different. No, she hadn't brought anything herself, but that was (slightly) less a matter of her not wanting to share than it was the fact that she didn't have a kitchen . . . or much in the way of culinary ability, anyway.

She was eating quickly, as was her habit, but close to a year in Fandom didn't stop her from pausing to look up and stare in absolute amazement at the amount of food on the table.

Alana brought a big plate of rolls from the bakery in town, and took a little of everything. (Okay, and maybe more than a little of the sweet potato casserole. But she was a growing girl.)
