Roland had his first really large, attentive audience since he moved to the island.

The trouble was, they were made up entirely of polar bears. Who wanted to pay him in soda. And only wanted to hear "I'd like to buy the world a Coke". Not even the longer single version about teaching the world to sing, the actual jingle. On repeat.

And, well, they were polar bears, so it wasn't like Roland could argue with them, could he? They had claws and sharp, pointy teeth.

And for some reason, cheerful red scarves.

"It is when there are bears insisting on it."

Loki looked from the bears back to him. "Perhaps it is a wise choice then."

"I thought so. Though I'm going to be pretty sick of Coke by tonight."

He was already, in fact.

"They seem very gentle so far," Loki said, giving the bears a thoughtful look. "To be blamed on their sugar addiction, no doubt."

"It might be a ruse," Roland said. "They're not quite cats, but I'm sure polar bears are tricky."

"You have experience with them?"

[14andseven]

"Well, I'm Canadian."

So, no, no prior experience with polar bears.

"...so, you enjoy maple syrup and something called poutine?" They he needed to make Thor try with him.

"Those two foods are the entire sum of my existence, yes," Roland said. "Well, and the polar bears, of course."

"Ah, then it is as the internet has told me." Where were your beavers and moose, Roland? Where were they?

He left them in his other mukluks.

"That explains so much."

Poor planning on his part then. "The wonders of the internet?"

"Sure thing, kid," Roland said. "You got any requests?"

Then if the polar bears got mad that he played something different, he could blame it on Loki.

"Do you know any ballads?" A beat. "Or perhaps some Ke$ha?"

The future was a terrible, terrible place.

"Any favorite ballad topic?"

[abitlowkey]

"I would not be opposed to a story of Thor." Or Ke$ha. Play him some goddamn Ke$ha, you worthless bard.

Never.

"Jethro Tull it is." Hey, it totally mentioned Thor. Though now Roland was wishing he'd brought his flute along, too.
