Atlas Gym, Wednesday

So, yeah, it was the first day of 2014, but it was also the first day of the month, and that meant there were bills to be paid and fitness instructors to... also be paid and a lot of annoying little paperwork bits to be dealt with to keep the gym going smoothly.

Clint would be finishing it all eventually, once he finished this game of Solitaire on his phone. It was like exercising his mind, right? Surely that was important too.

If Kitty looked apprehensive about actually setting foot in the actual workout part of the gym, well... January 1.

"Is the New Year's resolution crowd bad?" she asked. "Tell me it's not bad."

Clint snickered as he set his phone down. "There aren't too many people around, but it's not pretty. I think some folks haven't been here since last January," he said. "You should feel free to nudge someone if they're in your way."

"Or phase right through them and really freak them out," she shrugged. "Am I interrupting some really hard work?"

"Um. Yeah, it's really hard, but you can interrupt anyway?" Clint said, trying to sound convincing.

"So what were you goofing off doing?" Kitty grinned.

[so_hawkward]

"Just playing around on my phone. I don't like paperwork, no matter what form it takes," Clint said. "I mean, I'll get to it, it's just boring and I can't do it all at once."

"That's because paperwork is evil. A necessary evil, but still. And I'm way more interesting than it." Hopefully.

"Oh absolutely," Clint said with a laugh. "I hope I'm not interrupting what you came in to do?"

"I'll get all sweaty at some point," Kitty said. "Right now I'd much, much rather be talking to you."

Like they didn't see each other all the time or something.

"Are you sure you don't want to get all sweaty and then talk to me?" Clint said, leering at her. "I mean, I wouldn't mind, if you want to get your workout in."

"Like you're going to hear a word I say when I'm sweaty," she teased.

Clint made a surprised and offended face. "Are you saying I don't listen to you when you look hot? That's not very nice."

"I'm saying you might be more focused on other things," Kitty said diplomatically. "Which I don't mind at all, by the way."

[so_hawkward]

"I can't help it," Clint said, giving Kitty a charming look. "I could make a New Year's resolution to only focus on what you're saying, but somehow I don't think that's what you want."

"Nope. I love the attention." What. "Besides, those things get broken by January third anyway."

[so_hawkward]

"Awww, you don't have faith in all the people running on treadmills for the first time in forever?" Clint said, snickering. "Nah, I agree resolutions are pointless. People in general aren't really good at the whole change thing."

[throughaphase]

"Well, they can be, if they have a reason to change," Kitty said thoughtfully. "Making a couple changes just because of a date probably won't do any good, no."

"You have more faith in people than I do." Not that that was hard or anything, but still.

[throughaphase]

"Probably. But like, I'm not the same person I was when I first got here," Kitty pointed out.

[so_hawkward]

"I don't know, I don't think you've changed that much. At least, not personality wise," Clint said. "Then again, I haven't known you since you got here, so maybe I'm off."

"Personality wise, probably not. But I'm not pretending to be anything I'm not now," she said. "Which happened around when you got here, so maybe I'm not the best example but still."
