It was Aeryn's first day of work- at a paying job ever, actually- and while she wouldn't say she was nervous, she did want to get things right. Especially considering she only had a very basic understanding of this planet so far.

That 'basic understanding of the planet' thing was already getting very old, by the way.

Today was going to be spent familiarizing herself with the shop and its weapons. Mostly the weapons. They may be primitive, but she could still understand those.

"Oh, that's just my duplicate," Jamie said in an off-handed manner. "Kinetic energy creates a copy of me and later on I can absorb him back. Blah-blah-blah mutant power thingy. And what's a Moya? Is that an alien curse word?"

"She's a Leviathan. A living ship. What's your duplicate doing?" Kind of focused, this one.

Jamie raised his eyebrows at mention of a living ship. "My dupe? Well he should be getting a Klondike bar. Is that a problem?"

"I guess not, as long as you don't get it on any of the weapons." Ron might kill him before she could in that case.

The duplicate returned in short order carrying multiple Klondike bars. "Here you go!" Jamie said as he absorbed the duplicate and took the Klondike bars. "You're in for a tasty treat. Here. Have one."

Aeryn took one, frowning at it. "What do you do with it?"

"You eat it," Jamie said with a chuckle. "Before it gets too warm and it melts."

"This is not what I expected of my first day," Aeryn said, shaking her head as she opened the package.

"You mean this is your first day?" Jamie asked as he unwrapped on for himself. "You didn't get here from a future version of Fandom did you?"

Aeryn gave him a weird look. "No. Why would that even happen?"

"Why, indeed," Jamie said with a sigh and took a bite of his Klondike bar. "Nevermind. Just Fandom weirdness."

"I don't know what that is," Aeryn admitted, tasting her Klondike bar and looking like she was trying to figure it out.

"Stick around," Jamie advised. "You'll find out. What do you think?"

"This is chocolate? It's good." No wonder John kept going on about that.

"Chocolate and ice cream," Jamie said with a nod. "There are few things people won't do to get a Klondike bar.

She frowned. "Are they somehow hard to get? This only took a few microts."

" You have to know where to look," Jamie said with an oh-so-serious tone. " I meN what would you do to get another one?"

"Ask," Aeryn shrugged.

"But would you do something embarrassing?Like bark like a dog? Moo like a cow?"

"Not for any reason," she replied, giving him a weird look. "No one else should, either."

"I keep forgetting that people from other planets never get cultural context," Jamie groaned.
