The Perk, Wednesday Evening

Allie had a large coffee confection to to occasionally inhale, and a book to read. If inhale meant ignore as the drink slowly cooled, and read meant stare at the same page in the book for the last twenty minutes.

Someone's mind was elsewhere this evening. Maybe a distraction would help.

Clint was in the mood for coffee not made by him, so he headed for the Perk. He saw Allie sitting down, and gave her a little nod in greeting as he waited for his drink. "Hey, reading anything good?"

"I could be a lot worse, I guess," he said with a shrug. "How are you doing?"

"I know, right? It's so much easier to remember why I like living here," Clint said. "Did you have to deal with any weird stuff like not remembering who you were or anything?"

Clint thought she sounded a lot like Natasha, but that certainly wasn't a bad thing. "I'm glad you came back out, even if it wasn't that bad."

"Heh, it's funny you say that - I got back not long ago from a trip to the Grand Canyon 'cause Kitty and I needed to not be here," he said. "That's why I really appreciate this calm down time."

"Hmm, there's got to be some nice places where you could get away that have things to do at night," Clint said. "That whole 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' thing is true. I like Fandom a lot more when I have a little break from it."
