Well, Flash figured his time around here was just about over. Not only did he somehow lose control of the powerful alien symbiote he was bonded to, but he attacked his boss's girlfriend, which was just great.

He already called Pym on the Lighthouse Station to let him know what happened and that it seemed to be some kind of weird magical event and not something to be too worried about from day to day. But Flash still had to go up there later to take a physical and let the Hanks poke around at the symbiote to make sure there wasn't any lasting effect. They also wanted to have Valkyie ask around about the crystal, which definitely wouldn't be awkward at all.

So for this shift, Flash was going to be spending some time with the yoga trainer to keep himself calm and balanced, and whenever he got back from the Lighthouse later or tomorrow or whenever, he was going to refocus his efforts to clear one of the bad influences out of his body.

Yeah, Kitty was definitely coming in today. Especially since she actually felt rational and that was going to be necessary. And when she got there she specifically went looking for Flash, greeting him with, "Hey."

"Hey. Here for a workout?" Flash checked. He was doubtful, but he had to try.

"I might. After I talk to you, of course," she said. "How're you doing?"

"Horrified. Ashamed. Worried. Positive that I'm about to be run out of town," Flash said. "But I've been worse. You?"

"Uhh, better than that," she said, a little sheepishly. "So you're Venom."

"Agent Venom," Flash said. "Designated by the US Army's Project Rebirth 2.0 and currently a member of the Avengers, vouched for by Captain America and the Red Hulk. I'm not The monster Eddie Brock was when he had the symbiote."

"Most of the time."

"Because of the sedative?" she guessed. "How often do things like yesterday happen?"

"Something similar happened once since the Avengers gave me the sedative," Flash said. "And even then we were still doing something good. It helped me beat the U-Foes." Justifications!

"Going on a crazy rampage like that was brand new."

"That's good at least," Kitty said. "So, what, you use the sybmiote to be a good guy?" Which was, you know, different than what she was used to.

"Pretty much, yes," Flash said. "I try to keep my super villainy to special occasions."

"One that comes around maybe every ten years or so?" she said hopefully.

"Even less than that if I can help it," Flash said.

"Okay," she nodded. "I don't think anybody's gonna try to run you out of town, you know."

"I beat up a teenage superhero in training and threatened to eat a horrifying number of brains," Flash pointed out. "I need to find that kid and apologize."

"That probably wouldn't hurt. The rest of it... as long as you didn't actually eat any brains, people here are pretty forgiving."

As long as this didn't happen all the time.

"I managed to influence the symbiote enough to not eat any body parts at all," Flash said. "And everyone's alive. So there's that."

"Sounds like you've at least got some good control over it. As long as you can keep that, there won't be a problem." With her or others. Generally.

"I'd really like to believe you, Kitty, but I'm going to have to see it first," Flash said.

"I know. But keep this in mind," Kitty said. "At some point in my life maybe a quarter of my friends have tried to kill me while under the influence or something at some point, and a lot of people here come from similar situations. And that doesn't count the times things took over here and people acted out of their control. As long as you're not being a threat- and especially if you're sorry- we get over it. You'll see it."

"Really? A quarter of your friends?" Flash asked. "Well, I guess in terms of superhero numbers, that's not that surprising."

"I was an X-Man," she said, like that explained it.

Because that pretty much explained it.

"Oh! Beast is one of the guys who makes my sedative," Flash said, as if that had anything to do with anything, really. "I wouldn't be able to do any of this without him."

"Yeah, he's pretty great," Kitty smiled. "Tell him I say hi, see what he says."

"Will do. I should be seeing him tonight, actually," Flash said. "I have to go in for a physical after this thing, and he and Pym want to make sure there's no lasting effect on the symbiote."

"What kind of effect might that be?" she wondered.

"Probably nothing," Flash said. "But it's not like anyone knows a ton about symbiote physiology. Maybe magic mood-changing did something to it. It's a small chance, but the Hanks want to play it safe."

"That's smart. Especially considering how often things happen in Fandom. Might as well be prepared in case something can change it," she mused.
