Trooper Station: Monday Morning

Vic rushed into the Trooper Station cursing a blue streak the entire way with only a brief pause to tell Ralph to get the fuck out of her way.

Hey, it was her first morning after experiencing Fandom weirdness directly! She should feel a little freaked out!

[For those who might have been arrested during the weekend.]

Vic immediately open up all the cells in a frantic manner. "Right! So. Sorry? You're all free to go!"

God she hoped she didn't get sued.

"I didn't even know the station had this many cells."

Emma felt for Vic, but she'd spent the night in lock-up and none of her winnings had survived the return to normality.

"Yeah, well apparently we're bigger on the inside. Or something," Vic said looking sheepish.

"Oh thank god," Roland, who had been working himself into quite the panic attack, said. He darted out as though he thought Vic might change her mind.

"Sorry!" Vic called out as Roland ran by.

"About fucking time," Barry grumbled as he stomped his way out of his cell.

"Hey, it's no skin off my nose, copper. A free bunk, and now room service? Life in the cooler ain't so bad! Hey, ya got a dime? I never got my phone call."

Yep, everything was back to normal: Joker was messing with someone.

Rikku was so thoroughly tickled to be in jail again. It was so cute, the way they did jail around here. Everyone was, like, polite, and they gave you phone calls and tucked you in to bed.

(Look, jails back home tended to just throw you to your execution without a trial. This was novel.)

She put a hand to her head, melodramatically. "But I did it!" she insisted. "I'm guilty. Lock me up and throw away the key! I deserve my time!"

So, Reno had woken up alone this morning, shoved a cat and a ferret and a duck off of himself, frowned, wondered where the hell Rikku was, and then had sat up with a very concise, "SHIT."

And now he was here. He'd pulled on, like, pants and everything, but figured it would probably be a good idea to get to the station as quickly as he could.

Now he was mostly just standing in the doorway and smirking to himself.

"You know, I came in to pick you up, babe, but now I'm wonderin' if you would just be having more fun today if I left you here, yo."

"I was gonna pick the lock and sneak out, but I feel like that's setting a bad example," Rikku chirped. "Do you know how long it's been since I last got arrested? It might've been out in California, with Dawn."

Hard to remember. All the arrests blurred together, after a while.

"So how's my sugar daddy?"

"I have had worse weekends," Reno decreed, grinning. "I probably deserve to be the one wakin' up in here more than you, yo. You heard what was going on over the phone last night."

It had been anything but boring, which was exactly how Reno liked it.

"Of course I didn't," Rikku said, with her eyes as innocent and big as she could make them. "I totally really didn't hear anything like you crunching up some people and shooting them. Was it anybody I know?"

She wandered up to the bars so she could take a good-morning kiss. Maybe a brief one, 'cause she might smell a bit like prison cell.

"My fault," she insisted. "I'm the one who got caught. Oh, man, and I kept warning people not to hit on me, or else you'd smack them around."

Reno couldn't help but laugh, at that.

"Nobody either of us know," Reno promised, ~~because NPCs~~. "But damn, now you got me feelin' all big and tough. My girl needs a strong, mean Turk to take care of her, now?"

He was very obviously teasing, of course, but he couldn't help but smirk and reach a finger out to poke her in the ribs a moment after that kiss, there.

"Yeah, right," Rikku laughed. "I wasn't scared they were gonna grab me. I just wanted everyone to know I was property of Reno, so they didn't try anything. Not about to make my sugar daddy grumpy, yoto."

She should have just had that stamped on her somewhere prominent: PROPERTY OF RENO. What? He'd probably enjoy that.

Just in case there might be some official business.
