Wine Tasting Party at Cafe Fina [Saturday Night]

Once Cafe Fina had ended regular business hours, Hatter had gone about getting it ready for the wine tasting party he'd planned for tonight. That meant bringing several bottles of wine upstairs and situating them on a long table. The food his staff had cooked and prepared was placed on a table next to it and smelled delicious, he had to say.

He managed to even get some music going without completely shorting out both the restaurant and the whole block. It just seemed too quiet with all the food and wine out and just himself and his staff there. So, there was music. Not too loud, not too brash, but something nice and comfortable for the background.

Once everything was out, Hatter opened the door to Cafe Fina and propped it open. The lights inside were bright and inviting and the music could be heard from those passing by.

It wasn't quite a tea party but it was the closest he'd come since arriving. And it was to celebrate no one's unbirthday, thank you.

Of course Irene was here, and of course, she'd dressed to the nines. (Even if had been since uni that she'd attended a party advertised on a flyer, but still. Beggars, choosers, et cetera.) She'd been meaning to find a reason for the beautiful Jason Wu (http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/Jason-Wu-Sleeveless-Twisted-Sheath-Dress-with-Belt-Black-Evergreen/prod101710030_cat285304__/p.prod?icid=&searchType=EndecaDrivenCat&rte=%252Fcategory.service%253FitemId%253Dcat285304%2526pageSize%253D30%2526No%253D60%2526refinements%253D&eItemId=prod101710030&cmCat=product) dress that Sherlock had so thoughtfully put in her new wardrobe, and this had seemed like the absolute perfect occasion. Paired with black suede Louboutins (her favorite, so much so that she was becoming vaguely concerned about their wear), and she was party-ready.

It felt nice to actually go out for an evening to somewhere not a bar. Not that she didn't love the bars, but there was something lovely about the ritual of dressing up for an evening with other grown-ups and no zombies (presumably.) She almost didn't care about the wine, given that there'd be consistent adult company here, as well.

"Well, someone certainly looks nice," Hatter said when he'd noticed she'd arrived. "That's quite the smashing ensemble there."

He meant that sincerely, of course. He took a moment to step back and take it all in before giving an approving nod.

"Lovely to see you, dear."

"Thank you." Irene actually posed a bit, preening. Look, she had plenty of lovely daytime outfits, but it'd been ages since she'd had reason to wear a cocktail dress. "I'm even going to let you keep your hat tonight," she said, ever so generously. "It'd offset the whole impression."

"Aw, you're such a dear," Hatter quipped, sliding a finger along the rim of his hat. "I wouldn't want to lose my hat tonight. I haven't done my hair and it just looks an awful mess right now."

No, it didn't. His hair was messy but it was artful.

"That's intentional," Irene decided, looking critically towards his hair before glancing around the room. "Thanks for doing this, by they way. The place looks great."

"It does, doesn't it?" Hatter glanced around, hands on his hips. "I wasn't sure how well it'd look or even if I could make it work but I shouldn't have been so hard on myself. Of course I could make it work."

"Now, it's just to see if anyone besides yourself decides to come by."

"If no one else comes, we'll just get utterly blasted on all that wine and have a marvelous time anyway," Irene assured him. "See, I came with a back-up plan."

"Thank you, Dr. Lecter," Irene said, pleased. "As do you. Always nice to run into someone who knows what they're looking at."

She was not, overall, particularly impressed with the relative fashion sense of the island's inhabitants.

Hannibal wasn't about to pass up a wine party; he was (as he'd told Hatter) intrigued as to what sorts of wines Fandom might have to offer.

He was dressed in a very nice suit, looking dapper in plaid. So, as usual.

"Well, I haven't run it out of business yet," he said, shaking the offered hand. "And people seem to like to eat so I think I'm doing fairly well for myself. As long as it doesn't rain strange things indoors, I'm okay."
