The Causeway, Sunday Afternoon

The school had instructed everyone going on the fall break trip to gather up at the causeway late on Sunday afternoon.

There was a little designated area for the luggage to the right, while students and teachers could gather up on the left. There'd been an instruction about winter wear in the invite, too - hopefully everyone had complied, considering their destination.

Now it was just a matter of waiting for the portal.

See, the upside about the whole winter wear situation was that Atton could get away with wrapping up his neck with a scarf so no one could see the bandages. Okay, there were a couple of scratches on his jaw, but hey, they were scratches.

He waited in the designated area, keeping an eye on the students.

Why yes, Sparkle was, in fact, sidling up to say hello to Atton. Hello, Atton!

"Thanks for the texts," he said, giving him a little grin. "Did whatever you went back for go okay?"

Traveling to the colonies had already done Edward's head half-in; the idea of traveling elsewhere without having to pay... anything was a marvelous one.

He was grinning a lot, was the thing.

Well, this could be an interesting little test. You know, a test of whether Isabelle could have a conversation with people she'd slighted if they didn't know it was her. Or, alternatively, a test of whether Edward was semi-Sighted like she suspected he might be.

"You look pretty excited," she noted pleasantly. "First time traveling off the island?"

Liara was used to this by now - and to the commotion that happened when some of Fandom's students suddenly woke up looking a bit different.

She sat down in her corner looking a bit Zen, observing the others.

Alex had woken up yesterday being the opposite gender and even though she had known this did happen, it had taken some getting used to.

That aside, she was still looking forward to fall break though, as she stood waiting for the portal.

Yesterday had been a disaster. And now Isabelle was here, in Flick's clothes – tie and all – with a suitcase stuffed with all manner of clothes that would not have the intended effect on this body.

She was ready for a break, although she wasn't sure this was going to be the break she really needed.

If Elsa looked a little awkward as she waited for the portal wearing Barry's clothes, that wouldn't entirely be because she was standing around barefoot in October. The weather hardly mattered, after all, and there was no way she was wearing the moose slippers that Barry had given her to wherever they were going.

She did have her own usual clothing packed as well, though she kept looking nervously at her suitcase, silently hoping that people were right and that this boy thing would be over by the end of the weekend. She was going to have a very uncomfortable week, otherwise.

So, his mood was still fairly shitty and now they were about to go to a place where winter was apparently in full effect. Brilliant. Flick had one or two bags at his feet and was wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled up while he waited for this thing to get going.

Maybe he could just fall into whatever bed he could find there and sleep through the break.

Reno had a grin on his face as he tossed a bag over into the luggage pile, and then sauntered into the waiting area. He'd packed light for the week, fitting everything he needed into a backpack or in his pockets.

Gaian pockets were awesome. Who the hell needed a suitcase, anyway?

The bag he'd thrown might have mostly had some spare potions and the like in it, because he could only fit so many into his pockets, and he had no damn clue if they were going to need them while they had students camped out in a town that had been attacked by dragons.

Nathan might have been a little excited about going some place cold. He liked winter. He liked colder, crisper air and he hoped against hope that maybe there were some mountains wherever they were going. They wouldn't be the mountains he was used to but anything was better than nothing.

He didn't have much that he'd packed but his bag was slung over a shoulder while he waited.

Travis was damn sure ready for a vacation. For one thing, he was getting to go some place he'd never heard of and no one in his little circle of friends back home had ever been so he'd have bragging rights. For two, it got him even further away from people who knew his story and that was never a bad thing.

So, he was packed and ready to go.

Oh, Sparkle was enjoying himself today, thank you. He had his winter gear packed, no problem, and his bags set to the side. There was even a grin on his face, here. He wasn't too worried about the winter or where they were going or any of it, because right at this moment he was a little preoccupied with just appreciating all of the pretty faces.

... Most of the pretty faces. There was one that looked especially like his ex, only she was dressed much better than Alec ever had, and he needed to take a moment to mentally recalibrate, looking a bit like he'd just tried to choke down a whole lemon as he did so.

Okay, looking elsewhere, then. Mmm, elsewhere was pretty.

Mara's bag was packed with her clothes because she was optimistic that this transformation would wear off eventually. For now, though, she was a skinny, short, annoyed redheaded guy.

Ugh.

Anakin was here with all of his and Rory's luggage (though hers had gotten a lot less book-heavy since she had her iPad now), still shaking his head over Rory's little brother's latest antics of running around the house with half of his face covered in eyeliner.

Something about some movie guy with a name that was really close to Bucky...hopefully Juliet wouldn't pick up the habit while she and Christopher stayed there for the week.

"So according to the Portalocity app," Rory said, already wearing a pair of fingerless gloves with a mitten portion that was folded back -- she was from Connecticut, okay? She lived for cozy knitwear -- "it's going to already be in the sub-zero temperatures when we arrive in Skyrim. Not that I know how they managed to convert whatever they use there to Fahrenheit, or trust the veracity of their app," she added, rolling her eyes, "but do you think we brought enough scarves?"

Four had never been on a vacation in his life and so he'd packed...like a person who'd never been on vacation before.

He probably wouldn't need all of the weapons he'd stashed away, but you weren't going to convince him of that.

Anders hadn't been able to convince himself to leave his book back at the shop, so it was coming to Rorikstead with him. It may not have been the best choice for relaxing vacation reading. His face was set into a near-glare as he read.

"Not all mages," he muttered to himself, once he reached his chapter's seventh passage about why people who used magic shouldn't be trusted with power.

Alana was cheerful as she waited to depart. Okay, so someplace cold wouldn't have been her personal first choice for a vacation, but whatever -- she was getting off the island for a week.

She shifted her bags from hand to hand,almost bouncing as she waited to leave.

Barry arrived late with perhaps more luggage than he should. Yes most of it was scientific equipment.

She was still grumpy, but at least now she was outside.

Since it was going to be cold where they were going, Face had brought along a hat to keep his head warm. It was kind of silly looking, but very warm.

Ichabod had not yet figured out why there were so few girls here, as well as a number of boys he hadn't seen before. He also had very little idea of where they were going, but a vacation should be good. He had made sure to pack a warm coat as well as a selection of books to keep him occupied.

Aaaaaaaand of all the people Celia had rather hoped she wasn't going to run into, Ichabod was definitely the foremost on that list.

Lovely.

But she realized she also probably ought to alert him to the situation, lest he wonder where she was, and so she sidled over to Ichabod and noted, "I'd like to note that I think it's terribly unfair that this didn't go both ways."

Celia was here. Celia was grumpy, of course, because Celia was still a boy.

Yes, she could probably change herself back, but that would take significantly more effort than she wanted to exert just to keep herself looking a certain way.

But she had turned one of her dresses into a waistcoat and trousers and warm coat, at least. If she had to be a boy, she'd be one who dressed properly.

Rapunzel was here, and had worn the shoes Barry had given her (since it sounded like it'd be cold enough that bare feet weren't a great idea.)

She was also sort of self-conscious at how she...seemed to be one of the only people around with, um. Her usual shape. She knew what had happened, of course, but she also didn't know why she got to stay the way she was, either.

So that just meant she was going to nervously fiddle with a lock of her hair and eye people to see if she could figure out who they were, normally.

Johnny walked up to the causeway after his radio broadcast with a bag and a light jacket on. If anyone paid attention, they would note the 4 emblem on middle of the chest, but split into two equal parts because it was unzipped.

Yes, Johnny was heading into a winter scenario dressed for spring. At least he wasn't showing off and wearing shorts.

Cecil was here, and really sort of wondering if it was too late to back out. He was dressed in thermal underwear, leggings, furry pants, a t-shirt, a long-sleeved shirt, a sweater, a winter coat, scarf, hat, gloves, and mittens.

Which meant he was just a little warm at the moment.

Kira was looking a little grumpy, since she'd been hoping this whole guy-thing would be gone when she woke up this morning. Thankfully, she wasn't very different size-wise as a boy, so her coat and clothes still fit. She wasn't sure how well she'd do in serious cold, but hey, she couldn't complain about a free trip.
