The Perk, Monday Afternoon

As weekends went, turning into a little kid wasn't so bad compared to the other things that could have happened to Clint (and everyone else, he figured). The worst part was dealing with all the grownup things that hadn't happened over the weekend, like dealing with anything for the gym, or keeping in touch with Barney so he didn't think Clint fell off a building or something. At the moment, Clint was on his second cup of coffee as he tried tackling his inbox. He wasn't overly fond of his email to begin with, so this was just kind of awful, and any distractions would be highly welcomed.

Okay, so maybe Kitty had been looking for Clint to check in, not that she was planning on admitting that. So she was glad to find him at the Perk, and not just because coffee automatically made her feel not seven.

"You look like you're having fun," she greeted him.

[so_hawkward]

"If wondering how people with a higher clearance than me can be worse at spelling is considered fun, then yeah, I'm having a great time," Clint said, smiling at her. "How are you doing?"

"Well, I've finally cleaned up my apartment from the disaster little me made trying to play dress-up, but otherwise fine," she said, taking a seat. "How about you?"

"Little me wasn't actually that messy. A giant pig, maybe, but at least I cleaned up after myself," Clint said. "I think Lucky and Rook might feel spoiled though, again."

"Oh, no, those poor dogs. They must hate that," Kitty smiled.

[so_hawkward]

"I woke up this morning with them on top of me. I guess little me didn't know the dogs aren't allowed on the bed." Neither did the dogs, but that was another matter.

"Like that'd stop them," Kitty said. "Also, that sounds completely adorable."

"I'm a grown ass man. I am no longer adorable," Clint insisted.

"You can be adorable when you've got puppies sleeping on you," Kitty countered. "I know these things."

Also when he got all cute about being up in really high places to see the view.

"Yeah, well, you're biased. You have the hots for me at every age," Clint said, laughing.

"Tiny me didn't know how to have the hots for anybody yet, thank you very much," Kitty teased. "I was probably like... two years away from that."

"Tiny you totally kissed me, don't think I forgot that," Clint pointed out. "Acting like you wanted to help me walk the dogs but I know what you were really after."

"Yeah, you know me and my salacious cheek kisses," Kitty said. "You know what was adorable? Tiny you blushing."

"Oh, of course you noticed that. I couldn't help it," Clint said. "Tiny me wasn't exactly drowning in kisses, you know."

"You should have been. You were a great kid," Kitty told him.

[so_hawkward]

Clint smiled softly and shrugged. "Eh, you only got to see me over the weekend, not what I was like all the time," he said. "Being around dogs made me a lot better, I think."

"So what were you like all the time?" she wondered, propping her chin on her fist.

[so_hawkward]

"I was kind of...unfriendly." Which was Clint's way of saying he was a tiny jerk with anger issues. "But it's hard to be like that when you've got dogs licking your face."

[throughaphase]

"Huh. You've always been really nice to me," he said, and thought about it. "If a little surprised I was nice."

Which probably said something.

"Well, I wasn't unfriendly to girls. You all are different," Clint said, giving Kitty a small smile. "And tiny you is always nicer than... well, most people I knew at that age."

"Oh, I get it, you were nice to all the girls," she teased. "And really, kids can be awful."

[so_hawkward]

"Yeah, I could be pretty awful," Clint said, thinking for a moment. "Or did you mean awful to each other? Because that's a thing too, I guess."

"Awful to each other," she said. "I still have trouble imagining you being that bad."

[so_hawkward]

"I wasn't too bad to other kids, but Barney and I didn't spend much time with other kids besides being at school, and then we stopped going after the accident. I just wasn't well-behaved. That shouldn't be a surprise considering how often you've seen me break rules," Clint said with a smirk.

"Okay, that's true," Kitty said. "What accident was this?"
