The Boardwalk, Saturday Afternoon

Amy wasn't typically a maudlin person, though she had enough dramatic friends to understand the impulse. But Karma was feeling text-happy today and Amy wasn't really in the mood to deal with it, so she found herself wandering along the boardwalk in the hopes of clearing her mind.

After a while, her gaze landed upon a woman who seemed to be boasting to her friends about something or other. She wasn't dressed all that warmly - actually Amy hadn't seen shorts that short in a long time - and she strode confidently with perfect posture, gesturing wildly with her hands as she chatted with her friends.

Something about her was just interesting, and Amy mumbled to herself, "I wish I was that confident."

It was a trivial thing to want, but oddly, Amy didn't immediately regret thinking it. Hmm.

{ open! i'm around until 7, and then i'm seeing nick offerman stand-up and will therefore be slow. :) }

It was nice to be able to go outside and not immediately want to turn around and get out of the cold. Travis hadn't been down skateboarding in too long so he was going to take advantage.

He rolled by Amy giving her a wave as he passed before stopping and turning around a bit. "Found the boardwalk, I see."

"If I don't fall on my face," he laughed, looking down at his skateboard. "If that happens, then I'm gonna change my story and say I was doing some super complicated trick and missed. And then I'm gonna hope road rash goes away quick."

"You'd be impressed if I ate pavement?" he asked, skating a little closer slowly. "That'd be a new one."
