Wonka's, all day Tuesday

Mara's mind kept drifting (and no, it didn't help at ALL when your roommate was Johnny Storm, thanks so much for that, Fandom), so she was grateful for an excuse to go to work and eat chocolate and get paid for it.

Even if her mind was now drifting along chocolate-drenched lines...

STUPID ISLAND. Ugh.

Wonka's was open and frustrated.

Iowa was boring and sometimes the island was fun so that's why Jim was there today. As soon as he stepped onto the causeway, he could feel something in the air, supercharging his already flirtatious and charming nature.

Well, then. Guess his decision to come to the island was a good one. On his walk through town, he pushed open the door to the sweet shop, not sure if he'd ever been in there during his time as a student.

"Hey there," he said, sliding his way into the shop and smiling at the girl behind the counter.

Oooooh. Mara gave him a flirty smile back. "Hi there."

Jim made a show of checking out a few chocolates while he walked down an aisle but he eventually made it to the counter and leaned against it.

"I don't think I know you," he said easily, smiling warmly at her. "I'm Jim. I'd remember you if we'd met before."

[giveherahand]

"Definitely," Mara said fervently. "That I'd remember. Not that you'd remember me. Hi. I'm Mara."

[pursuedthestars]

"I don't remember you but we can solve that right now for next time," Jim told her, all charm. "Nice to meet you, Mara. Now, I'll remember you. Hope you'll remember me too."

[giveherahand]

"Jim," Mara said, smiling back. "I'll remember. You came in looking for something sweet?"

Smooth, Mara.

"I did but I think I might have already found it," Jim told her, tapping the counter. "Guess I just got lucky."

Mmm, phrasing.

[giveherahand]

"Well, not just yet," Mara said, arching up an eyebrow and grinning.

[pursuedthestars]

"Oh, you're right, I haven't gotten lucky just yet," he said, shaking his head sadly. "But then, neither have you."

He grinned again.

"So, you want today to be your lucky day?"

[giveherahand]

Mara leaned in closer. "Hmmm. Convince me."

[pursuedthestars]

"You need convincing after seeing this face?" What a hardship! But, Jim leaned across the counter, using his height to close that distance to try and kiss her.

Did it matter that he'd just walked in here and only knew her name? Nope!

Well, it did help that he looked like he did. She probably wouldn't be kissing a super-ugly guy back.

Sorry, Tino.

But Jim was definitely getting kissed back.

It was true, Jim was gorgeous. But, she knew that and he knew that so no reason to try and convince her.

With the counter between them, Jim couldn't get too close but he figured the sort of kiss he was giving her was enough to convince her.

Somewhere, Cade had a bad, bad feeling and no idea why...

Mara finally pulled back, breathless. "Well then."

Sorry about this, Cade. Except not really. Ahem.

"Convinced?" he asked innocently.

[giveherahand]

"I might need to do it again, just to be sure," she mused. "The last boy I kissed was a major holo star. My standards are pretty high."

[pursuedthestars]

"Greedy," Jim remarked but actually came around the counter this time. "But, I am more than willing to help. C'mere."

And then he was leaning closer to her again, going in for another kiss.

[giveherahand]

Mara draped her arms around his neck and kissed him back, nipping a bit at his lower lip because really, look at that lower lip.

He really was not sorry, Cade.

Jim got his own arms around her, pulling her closer to him and giving her lower lip a little lick after she'd bitten his. Then, he dove right back into kissing her, making sure she'd be remembering him after he'd gone back home.

Ah yes, Jim...something...from someplace? Maybe?

It was hard to concentrate right now, okay? Because kissing was amazing.

Remembering Jim was good enough.

Jim's focus had been whisked away as soon as he'd set foot on the island so they were alike there. This kiss was only making it worse. He found that his body was angling towards her and his mind was buzzing.

"Storage room?" Mara suggested after a few minutes of this.

Next week Mara was going to judge Past!Mara so, so hard.

"Let's go," Jim said because yeah, there was a need for privacy. "I'm right behind you."
