Bucky felt like he was finally on top of things in the store. He'd conquered the cash register, the Valentine's candy was all gone, and he was almost getting to wrap his head around how he might have gotten a little more than what he'd bargained for when he'd moved to this island. Everything was pretty good, even if he missed Brooklyn (and Steve's near constant presence) something fierce. He got this.

That was, until he'd just gotten the shop open this morning, and a crate of bananas was delivered. Bucky argued with the delivery man for a while – "look, pal, does it say 'Wonka's Fruit Shoppe' on the marquee?" – but he wouldn't hear of it. He just left the bananas there. So, Bucky was stuck with trying to figure out what to do with them. Sighing, he got one out of the crate, peeled it, and bit into it.

Then he did his best not to spit it on the floor. "What the hell is this?" That did not taste like a normal banana to him. At all. Because no one had told him the world had changed, and the main variety of banana available in the US along with it.

Wonkas was open, and there was a sale on bananas. Please, someone take the weird, 2015 bananas off his hands.
