Cafe Fina, late Sunday Afternoon, early evening

Momoko and Jaime arrived on Sunday and quickly found that none of the children on the island were theirs. Momoko... wasn't sure how to take that.

But JJ apparently didn't have instilled in him the strict 'no spoilers' rules that her other kids did, so she was totally pumping him for information over an early dinner.

"So the portals closed?" Momoko asked, urging JJ to go one with the story. The one explaining how she and Jono had ended up together.

JJ nodded. "When they reopened, apparently the whole dimension had reset. Mr. Reyes was a teenager again, his whole personality and history had changed."

Momoko looked aghast at Jaime. "That can happen?!"

Jaime shrugged a bit helplessly. "I don't really know," he admitted. "I mean, I suppose just about anything could happen considering the number of possible universes out there..."

"Mmpaprttnty?" JJ shrugged, slurping his spaghetti as he spoke.

The glare from not!Mom that was very familiar and he swallowed quickly and apologized before continuing."Anyway. That's when you and Da got together, started dating. Da had to bring you back from 'some stuff', he says. Won't tell me what happened and you act like that time didn't even exist."

He looked over at Mr Reyes, slightly confused. "I don't know why. You seem pretty cool. I thought that last year, too. But when I told my parents I'd met you they got all weird."

"And vague, apparently," Jaime said with a snort. Then he shrugged. "Still, portal shutdowns sound pretty weird... Any idea if it happened again after that one time?"

"You're acting totally casual about it," Momoko muttered in Jaime's direction. She... was not liking the idea that one day she could leave El Paso and the next day it would all be gone because of a 'reset'.

"I'm not sure how else to react," Jaime pointed out. "I mean, you're always pointing out that I need to just deal with things like waking up female. It's one of those Fandom things, and there's nothing you can do about it..."

He frowned. Because that wasn't something he was really okay with at all.

"You okay mom? I can stop talking about it if you want." JJ raised an eyebrow at the two of them. "I didn't think it would be a problem since you don't seem to mind coming back to the island right now."

Momoko blinked at that. "Why would I mind coming here?"

JJ looked blankly back at her for a moment. "Oh yeah! You don't know that either!" He frowned. "Uhm. Well, you don't like to come back to the island. Not even for events and stuff, if you can help it."

Momoko frowned. That made no sense. She loved Fandom! It was like another home to her! This was where she'd met all of her friends and made so many happy memories! She sat back, forgetting her dinner as she tried to imagine something that would make her not want to come back... well, home.

JJ knew. It was one of the few things from that time that he did know. But he wasn't sure he wanted to tell either of the other two people at the table. Talking about it at home always made mom sad, even though she tried to hide it, so he'd stopped bringing it up a loooong time ago.

And JJ had no idea how Mr Reyes would react.

Jaime purses his lips thoughtfully, staying silent for a couple of seconds. "You don't have to say anything more if you don't want to," he pointed out. "But you know she's going to worry over all the terrible possibilities..."

He figured JJ could judge well enough which of those would be worse.

Dinah came in and greeted Momoko and Jaime with hugs, and JJ with a head-rub. "I see you caught up to your spawnlet, hunh?"

"Ugh! Aunty Di! The hair!"

"DINAH!!" Momoko bounced up and gave Dinah a sort of desperate hug. "It took forever to get a portal! Where are yours?"

"I didn't get any this time," Dinah said with a little ruefulness. "Maybe because Portalocity wasn't sure they were gonna get me here in time for it." She hugged her back hard. "Did you get any others aside from JJ?"

"Awwww. Not even Lena?" Momoko pouted a little at that. Not having someone around who knew a world where she and Jaime were together was making her nervousness a bit worse.

"And not as far as I can tell. Just the one this year!" Which was okay. Really.

"My daughter. With Priestly." Dinah was struck by a question she hadn't thought of before. "Do you know him? Is he married? Do I have any kids?"

Zzzzing look at her ignore any spoiler warnings, Momo!

JJ came with no spoiler warnings, no worries.

"NO WAY! You and Uncle Priestly?!" JJ was shocked. "Wow. Yeah of course I know him. He's the only reason I passed gym in fifth grade!"

"Uhm. You have Sin? But you guys are more like weird siblings or something. And I think Uncle Ol has a kid somewhere? But he doesn't hang out."

"Sin and I are weird siblings?" Dinah frowned a little at that, then tentatively asked, "How old is she now? And that so doesn't surprise me, given the press I've heard about your Uncle Oliver." To Momoko she added, "Laurie's dad. Who the other me was divorcing, last time."

"Whoah. So that's two universes you decided to marry him? I'm totally going to have to watch you carefully, aren't I?"
