Outside Apartment #2, MCA, Sunday Evening

'Furnished apartment,' McIntosh and Nelson had said. 'Lease is already arranged,' they'd said. 'You just have to pick up the key,' they'd said. Brian had just assumed the apartment would suck. All of that might be true, but the contact info they'd given him (for a guy named Coulson, though the lease had someone else's signature on it) had gotten Brian a 'New phone, who dis?' and ringing the bell in the lobby and even banging on the door to the manager's apartment had gotten him exactly nowhere.

And while Brian had some money tucked back, he hadn't brought any of it to the island with him, not with the FBI watching him so closely, and with his apartment already arranged they probably wouldn't be amused if he expensed a hotel. So he'd spent his first night here in his car.

Faced with the prospect of doing the same tonight, he'd decided to take matters into his own hands. Juvenile delinquency and his adult profession (okay, and also delinquency) gave one certain skills, after all. Which was to say, anyone who happened to find themselves on the second floor of MCA right about now would find Brian attempting to pick the lock of what was allegedly already his own apartment.

"Sometimes," he muttered to himself as the stupid lock failed to cooperate, "I really wish I'd gotten in that car with Dom."

((OOC: For the neighbor, but open to anyone else who wants to bust Brian! But please don't assist him: Brian will not be gaining access to his apartment at this time. Mwahaha))

After his meeting with a few of the more colorful teachers yesterday, it was safe to say that Washington was on alert for anything strange going on near his lodgings.

So, when someone was trying--and failing--to break in next door. Well.

He cleared his throat, waiting for the guy to notice him. And no. No, he hadn't removed the armor yet. Because paranoid.

"Hi."

At least Wash hadn't grabbed his gun for this?

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-03 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really." This was Wash's face of disbelief. You couldn't see it, but it was there behind the helmet.

Doubting you.

"Do you have the lease on you?" Maybe an ID to go with it.

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-03 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh huh.

"Because that's a common mistake," Wash replied dryly. "I can see how you'd run into that problem a lot."

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-03 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounded about right for most signatures in law enforcement.

"Do you have an ID on you?"

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-03 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Agent," he corrected. "It's Agent Washington."

Like the state.

It was all a test. Yes. Clearly they wanted to get him on being insane because a guy in armor? Pff. Weird.

"Another misspelling?" Wash asked, tilting his head at the name on this ID.

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
It sounded like he was the type of guy who had headless corpses in his apartment.

"Uh huh.'

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Fine, the headless corpses were in his car.

"Why am I doubting the validity of this?"

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Serial killer him would. He so would.

"And the fake is to buy alcohol?"

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
He was totally FBI. Look at the FBI armor.

"I have time."

All he had planned for the night was booby-trapping his place. Like a perfectly sane person would.

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
"So, you decided to break in instead." Feel the full force of Wash's judgement for that.

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
"There is a hotel in town."

So you're not sleeping with your victims, serial killer Spilner.

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Oh god, he was homeless and unemployed too? It was so sad when the poor were forced to turn to crime to survive.

"...did you need a few dollars?"

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely a man, yes. Deal with it.

"You know there's no shame in asking for help." Okay, now he was just being a jerk about this.

[identity profile] worstofalltime.livejournal.com 2015-05-04 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Wash was still going to leave a cup of coffee by that door tomorrow morning. Because he was a giver.

Also, he was an asshole.

"We'll see."
