The Devil's Nest, Friday Evening

Allie wasn't sure how she got so lucky, but it was gremlin poker night in the lounge again. She made an executive decision to cover the bar area. Which meant Tiny was in charge of serving drinks to the lounge. That lasted until he was bitten and decided he was a Broadway star. The DJ indulged him by playing show tunes.

It was going to be a long night.

"What's with the Broadway invasion?" Mike asked with a grin after making his way in.

Like he didn't know. He'd been around for long enough to recognize a gremlin bite.

"The idiot got himself bitten," Allie replied, shaking her head. "That's why I'm only throwing cans of beer over to them when they want more to drink. I have no desire to join him in any sort of duet."

"Honestly, I've never been bitten, so I really don't know for sure. But considering other fun bits of island weirdness have..." You do remember the sex pollen don't you Mike? "I'd just as soon not risk it."

The fact that Tiny was now crooning the theme from Cats was a walking case study in why the risk wasn't worth it.

She had a point. Several, in fact. The one that was actually spoken made him smirk a little. The unspoken one made him through a long-suffering look over at Tiny.

"I've been doing about the same. With an added bit of lurking about thrown in. Although I do have some news." The fact that she was grinning when she said that should be a giveaway that it was good news.

He'd already guessed it was good news. He could be pretty simple sometimes, but he wasn't that dense.

"Good news," Allie smiled. "I finally got that bike I'd been talking about."

"The way I grew up, I didn't know what I would prefer. But a bike was the first thing I got to ride after I got out of New Covington," Allie explained. "And then I spent a lot of time riding with Nick while he was on the island and I was hooked."

"Not really." He had... some plans. But they weren't really at a stage where he wanted to talk about them, yet. "Biggest thing I got right now is maybe having some kind of party on the fourth of July."

"Kinda?" he said. "Well, not really. Back in Tampa, we used to get up hella early and take a friend of mine's boat to this sand bar and just chill out there all day with coolers full of beer."
