The Perk- Wednesday morning
Kitty had had a great night, but today she had to head to New York for her other job. On one hand, she wanted Peter to find out from her so she'd have to tell him first and she wasn't looking forward to the potential awkwardness there, but on the other hand, she wanted to tell everyone, and many of those everyones were at the school. She could be away for one night.
Since she had a little bit of time before her portal, she stopped in at the Perk to get some coffee. She took a seat at a table while she waited, playing on her phone but mostly still staring at her hand because seriously, how had yesterday even happened.
[I have no work. Open!]

Mike hadn't known she'd be here, and he hadn't even meant to come by here, but he'd been going past the Perk, and caught sight of her through the window and look, he'd listened to the radio this morning.
"Which do I need to check out, babe, my hearing or your hand?"

Yes, Mike, she knew. He gave her ring a once-over.
"Oh, wow. Careful or you might sprain something."

Look, with the shit that seemed to happen when anyone he knew went home, he had to ask.

Yeah, he remembered he was actually supposed to say that out loud.

Probably heading towards some kind of a life situation crisis if people didn't stop getting engaged around him.
"–– y'know, getting my stuff together to get a business thing off the ground."

"Really? What kind of business thing?" Kitty asked, totally interested and making internal bets with herself on the answer.

(Although no, it wasn't stripping.)
"Furniture," he said. "Custom furniture. I've done the math, I know I have at least a chance of getting this thing started now."

"That's so cool," Kitty grinned. "I didn't know you actually wanted it to be a business. I thought it was just a hobby."
