If Flick's timing was correct, he didn't have too many shifts left on the island. It was sad in a way but considering where he was going, he couldn't be that sad. He was pumped, excited, ready for something new. The candy was stocked up and a few pieces were sitting in front of Flick. Every so often, he'd pop one into his mouth to eat.
His laptop was out and he was browsing more furniture. He needed to get that apartment filled up before he left.

"No."

"... How come?"
no subject
"Well, there aren't any Shadowhunters in your New York Institute. I haven't heard of any friends outside your family for you guys. None of what I've heard about the Academy makes it sound like a place to go make friends and break bread. That stuff."

Even if Simon in his current state did not really know him. Except as someone he'd briefly met at Luke and Jocelyn's wedding.

He rubbed his wrist across his forehead and shrugged. "It's still all I can think about."
no subject
Okay, that was a little pleading.
"Who do you think Simon will want to spend time with? He doesn't know anyone. He doesn't know anyone. Honestly, he might need the support more than you do."
no subject
Though, he was kind of stung that apparently Simon's well being was more important than his. He didn't show that, didn't let a flicker cross his face.
"To help him."
no subject
She just wanted him to have a friend. "Okay," she said. "Thank you."

She nodded, then turned, then left. She'd give it a day or so.
