Groovy Tunes, Friday September 25, 2015

Maria had brought in CDs to listen to.

She had put a CD into the stereo.

The stereo was playing old school country in spite of the rock and roll CD in the player.

Maria glared at the stereo for a few minutes before sighing and getting to work.

Groovy Tunes was open and the stereo thought it was in charge!

Jasper really didn't want to deal with this robot child but it wasn't like he had a choice. At some point, it got loud enough that he took it out of his room and for a walk.

Stopping in to visit Maria seemed like a good enough excursion. Maybe it'd quiet the screaming kid down some.

"I think this thing is broken," he said by way of greeting.

"I don't think so," Jasper told her, making a face at the robot thing. "I've been calling it Robot Baby."

So. No one should let him name things.

"I'm not very creative."

Not when it came to things like naming fake children.

"Stereo?" Jasper repeated, giving the robot child a look before nodding. "He's definitely loud enough to be live up to that name. Hopefully that means he has a fricking off button."

"Oh, don't say that," Jasper replied, wincing. "I'd like to get some sleep at some point. I fed the thing, rocked it, talked to it and it just screams. Probably just hates me."

"I know nothing about kids, robot or otherwise," he admitted with a grimace. "I'd love for it to stay quiet and not scream all night."

Jasper groaned and shook his head.

"If you take him so I can at least get some breakfast, I'd appreciate it," he told her. "And then we can go find some stuff that'll maybe keep it busy for awhile. No on needs to be stuck with a crying, screaming kid over the weekend."

Jasper nodded and smiled. "Sure. I'll grab you a coffee on my way back."

He had a feeling she might need it all things considered.

"See you in a bit."
