Homecoming Dance 2015, Town Hall, Saturday Evening

This year's Homecoming had an autumn forest theme, and as such it was more natural than certain dances in years past. The tables bore pumpkin centerpieces, and bales of hay occupied the corners. Garlands of autumn leaves had been twined around everything that would hold a garland, and some of the waiters were dressed as forest creatures. (A few of the others were dressed like 'Pumpkin Spice,' which translated to short orange dresses, big hair, and a habit of answering questions with 'zig-a-zig-ah.' It was better not to talk to them.)

There was still plenty of glitter despite the theme. It had a way of creeping in around the edges.

As is the tradition. There were furry ears and autumn leaf headbands at the table by the entrance, in case anyone needed help getting into the spirit.

Heaven only knew where Dante had found the strappy corsetty thing. Maybe it was at Demon Marcus. Maybe it was somewhere else. Whatever the case, combined with the ripped-up black shirt and the skinny jeans and the Converse and the strappy gloves, he was kinda fond of it.

When he showed up, he snagged one set of those furry fox ears and hung it on his belt - it'd be something to tease Ezra with later, if nothing else - and then wandered into the dance, looking for something to eat.

At long last, Edward had been able to afford a... wearable suit. It was not quite as decent as he would have liked it, but it more or less fit him.

And he wasn't about to let it wreck his good humor.

He was beaming upon entry, though he took no headbands.

Cassandra was not entirely sure how the autumn leaves had come to sit on her head. She was not fond of it, whatever it was. Yet somehow, no matter how many times she removed it, it kept returning to her head.

Sigh.

At least she was properly dressed this time.

April's dress was pretty fall-themed in color alone, but she couldn't resist popping on a pair of deer ears to improve the look.

She was, in all, pretty giddy to be here. It was a high school dance! Eeee!

Xanthippe showed up in another red dress that hugged her body in a way her mother would definitely have disapproved of.

She didn't take any furry ears or headbands, although she could maybe be persuaded into wearing the latter. By a cute enough guy. Y'know, if he could distract her away from eyeing the bales of hay with some mild suspicion.

Anders was just grateful the school had finally come up with a dance theme that wouldn't leave him spangled with glitter at the end of the night. He popped on a pair of raccoon ears -- they matched his black suit -- and wandered into the dance.

Kathy raised her eyebrows at a relatively subdued Homecoming theme this year and wasted no time in grabbing a leaf crown. It even went kind of well with her dress, which was always a plus.

Within minutes, her hair and dress were shimmering in the dimness due to all the ambient glitter. Ahh, definitely a Fandom shindig.

Alana's dress was simple, loose and designed for dancing. She skipped the headbands and strode into the dance confidently.

Frank was all dressed up for the theme. No, no, his suit was just a nice suit and he wasn't about to wear ears or headbands. But there was a sprig of something in his martini glass. You couldn't get more foresty than a sprig of something.

Ezra had a fancy suit, and was proudly wearing a pair of fake fox ears.

What? You hadn't thought that would absolutely delight him? Well, you'd thought wrong. All in all, he looked happy to be here.

Don't look now, but Isabela was actually wearing trousers, along with the jacket she'd gotten in Ghanima and Tahiri's class and a shirt that showed off even more skin than her usual chemise.

She'd also managed to acquire the most manificent hat somewhere.

Time for one last party before invading another world run by a god named Doom. You know what? Jessica was ready to party a bit instead of focusing on the likely outcomes. She arrived wearing a black dress with a red jacket - she was embracing her own personal branding - and kept an eye out for any other old friends who were visiting.

Arrakis had very little of either autumn or forest, and Hania let out a delighted laugh as they entered the hall, the two of them wearing everyday Arrakeen fashion.

"Dying leaves have the colour of the desert," Leto pointed out to her. "They have a different theme every year."

"What does glitter have to do with it?" His daughter poked at a pile with her foot.

"That is a constant theme," Leto said with a laugh. "And it will get inside your clothes like sand if you're not careful. Do you want a headband?"

He wasn't going to put on something silly like that, but Hania compensated for this with picking one of each.

"We will have to get a photograph for your mother," Leto observed, as she made a mock regal pose.

In gaudy yellow. Goddamn it, Eggsy. Just learn about suits already.

Raven looked over the ears and leave bands and decided to go for it. By growing her own ears. That way she could make sure they complemented her dress properly.

Though she totally could have switched it up and shifted her dress to better complement her ears.

Cosima had told her to rock the etherial, and so here was Ada, in a dress that moved around her legs like a cloud, and well, she hadn't managed heels, but at least she wasn't in cowboy boots? There were soft and had ribbons, and didn't pinch her toes!

She tucked her headband amongst the dark curls shaped like wood-shavings that she had let to spill all the way down her back, and went out to find her friends.

After one more quick check of the punch, Zoe made her way up with some cards and crowns to announce the court.

"Good evening," she said. "Thank you all for voting this week. It's my pleasure to announce this year's Homecoming Court. For the freshmen, your queen is a tie between Alluka Zoldyck and April, and your king is... Waddles the pig?" Sorry Dipper, the numbers didn't lie. "Okay, for sophomores, your queen is Maria DeLuca, and your king is Dante." God help them all. "For the juniors, your queen is Isabela, and your king is Thorin. And for the seniors, your Homecoming King is Ezra Sagishi, and your tieing Queens are Alana, Kathy Li, and Gwen Stacy."
