The Perk, Thursday evening

It's not that Allie had been purposely avoiding people the last few weeks. She just hadn't felt like being particularly social after hearing about what had happened to Kitty. But even a vaguely introverted vampire could only spend so long lurking with the teal deer in the preserve. Tonight that meant Allie was in the Perk, headphones over her ears as she watched a lecture on her phone and occasionally took a long inhale of the scent of steaming cup of coffee on her table.

Clint had been back and forth between Kitty's universe and Fandom so much that he hadn't had much of a chance to check in with anyone. So, he was really glad to see Allie in the Perk, and even though he didn't say anything when he went up to her, out of respect for the headphones, she could probably tell what kind of mood he was in by the grin on his face.

Allie was engrossed in the video so it took her a few seconds to register Clint standing there. It took a second or two longer for her to recognize what that grin could possibly mean.

"What happened?" she asked, pulling off her headphones off.

"She's back," Clint said, sitting down across from Allie. "The missile came back and Kitty was still on it and she's alive. She's--she's gonna look a little weird for a while, there's a thing going on with her powers, but she's okay."

"Seriously?" It's not that Allie didn't believe him, but it wasn't every day a friend you'd given up for dead turned back up alive, even if there had been some vague hope. "Where is she?"

"She's still at home," Clint said. "She's... stuck phased, basically. Something about her being phased for too long while she was stuck inside the bullet." Clint sighed, shaking his head. "Anyway, they've got her in this suit that's like, keeping her together. It's weird and not at all proper science, but it's working. Once everyone's sure the suit will keep her good to go, she can come back." Clint grinned happily. "I thought you'd want to know. You were so nice about it the other week."

"But she's alive! That's what's important! I'm so glad you told me, " Allie smiled.

"See, that's what I keep saying, but Kitty thinks I should be more worried that she isn't solid yet," Clint said, smirking. "I keep trying to make it clear how important it is that she's just okay."
