Warehouse District, Tuesday Afternoon

So apparently whatever had been going on over the weekend was done with. That's what people said. Ringo figured that they wouldn't lie to her, so she might as well assume that they were right.

But while it had been relatively easy for Ringo to call up her Crazy Apple persona when she'd needed it, she was finding it a lot harder to put it away. Mostly because Crazy Apple was cautious, and whispered in the back of Ringo's head, reminding her that while people wouldn't lie about the crisis being over, that didn't mean that they weren't wrong. That overwhelming flood of emotions could be back, along with the threats on the streets, and it was best to be prepared.

So Ringo had worn her regalia when she decided she needed to blow off steam and headed out to the Warehouse District, to her usual spot. She wasn't riding, though. She was standing in the middle of what she had come to think of as "her" territory looking a bit forlorn.

Over six months in Fandom had given her ample time to mark the area with her signature. Gouges in walls, worn-down railings, dents in dumpsters and rolling metal doors. Each one a sign of a path practiced over and over, with practiced eyes able to trace the big sweeping movements and soaring jumps. But over the weekend there had been enough practicing that the faint beginnings of a new path could be seen, too.

Ringo's path through the area was wild and free and fun, but Crazy Apple's was almost the opposite. Controlled, efficient, with an eye toward offensive and defensive positioning. Ringo rode ATs to be free while Crazy Apple rode to fight, and there was that voice whispering in the back of her head, pointing out which one of them had been right for this past weekend.

A small shiver ran through Ringo's body, and she hugged her arms around herself tightly for a moment as she stood paralyzed with indecision. Should she let herself relax, get out there and ride the familiar path, or should she set fun aside and ride that new path, renewing skills that she'd hoped to set aside. Would it be irresponsible of her to push the fighting aside again?
