Roof of the Kwik Stop, Thursday Afternoon
"Okay, so I was gone a while," Dante said, "Again. But I brought gifts."
The cat squinted at him from the other side of the roof. Dante held up the tupperware and opened it demonstratively.
"I kept some leftovers from the holidays," he said, putting the box down and shoving it partway across the edge of the roof, where it was still flat. "There. They're all yours."
He was going to spend the next half hour or so watching the cat slowly creep across and over to the container; he decided to light up a cigarette while he waited, kicking his feet against the wall. Keeping an eye on whoever came down the street, just because.

"Hey, look," Dante called - to the cat, and not to her. "I think somebody stole the fur from your last dinner."

Struggling to come up with a suitable response - it was too late to just pretend she hadn't heard - she ended uo just glaring back.

Though now that she was glaring, he had to grin back. "What's up?"

And now he was grinning at her, probably quite pleased to have got the reaction he wanted, and Lucille was still unable to come up with a good response.
"Nothing," she called back. "I'm just in awe of your lack of manners."

Dante turned his head, throwing a smirk at the cat. "Now I'm going to have to cry myself to sleep at night."

"Oh, but you seem to have a pet to comfort you," she replied with mock cheerfulness. "I trust you can overcome this disappointment."

"You make no sense," she announced firmly, seeing no reason to pretend otherwise.

"Just trying to turn your frown upside down," Dante called. "What's your name?"
