The Perk- Thursday evening

Welcome to the two months before Kitty's wedding, where it basically are her life. She had taken over a corner of the Perk with her laptop and papers, trying to get organized with lists and seating charts and just basic general mess.

And she was pretty sure the barista was throwing shade at her because she assumed she wasn't invited. Which she wasn't, but still.

[SO BORED AT WORK. Open!]

Eliot wandered through for a cup of coffee and eyed the papers. "Congratulations," he said. ". . . There ain't somethin' in the water, is there?"

There seemed to be a lot of people getting married, okay? And Eliot was not on for that as a random Fandom thing happening.

"No, and I would like it on the record that I was engaged back at wave one of all this," Kitty said. She was not trying to be part of a trend here. "Also thank you."

Eliot nodded. "Well -- good." Now he just had to continue to make sure Hardison and Parker didn't get any funny ideas on their own. "How's the plannin' goin', then?"

[throughaphase]

"Stressy! We're getting close," Kitty said. "How's your handwriting?"

Don't think she wouldn't commandeer people to help address stuff.

"Legible?" Eliot shrugged, not getting where she was going with that question. "I write the specials at Luke's, and no one's complained about that, yet."

He was maybe going to regret that answer.

[throughaphase]

"Great! I need help with addresses," she smiled.

[vdistinctive]

"Addresses for what?" Eliot asked cautiously. He was pretty sure he knew, but maybe he'd luck out and she meant, like, looking up caterer addresses?

[throughaphase]

"Invitations. I started, but my hand was cramping up," she said, already reaching into a chair for the invitations.

Eliot briefly considered running. But then the squirrels would probably report it, and he'd never hear the end of it from Hardison. "Just how many people are you invitin'?"

Of course, it was entirely possible he wouldn't hear the end of helping out from Hardison, either.

[throughaphase]

"Not many. But it's a lot of detail work in making sure the universe is right," she said, pushing out the chair for him.

[vdistinctive]

"Ah hell." This was going to give him a headache, wasn't it. "And you can't just plug it into a computer or soemthin'?"

[throughaphase]

"I'm imagining how ballistic my mom would go at that and no. No mail merge," she said firmly.

[vdistinctive]

"What if you just sent hers separately?" Computers had to be good for something, right?

[throughaphase]

"Mothers find things out. At least when it comes to weddings, apparently," Kitty sighed. "Here's the list. Just do what you can. Thank you, you are awesome."

Yeah, Eliot hadn't had a mother of his own in rather a long time, but he seemed to remember that, now that she mentioned it. "Just . . . save me some cake or somethin'."

[throughaphase]

"Oh, I'm absolutely inviting Hardison so there's a good chance you'll be there," Kitty told him.

[vdistinctive]

Eliot made a mental note to make sure neither Hardison nor Parker decided to steal Kitty's wedding. "Right. Didn't realize you two had gotten close."

[throughaphase]

"I wouldn't say we're close. But he's my fellow computer geek Chicagoan bud and we need to stick together," Kitty explained.

Eliot tilted his head and nodded. "Fair enough. I'd probably be pretty happy to have another Oklahoman around, if one ever showed up."
