Valentine's Dance 2016, Town Hall, Friday Evening

It was the Valentine's Dance and while, unlike some previous years, pollen wasn't in the air (yet), glitter certainly was. Gallon and gallons of it.

Or rather, due to the presence s of certain people on the decorating team, galleons and galleons of it. Yes, majestic sailing ships (with very...memorable figureheads) of various sizes stood proudly around the hall, all of them filled to brim with glitter.

Best of all, thanks to your kind and considerate student council, all this year's glitter was the edible kind. You're welcome.

Completing the nautical theme, the entrance was made to look like the docks. Minus that fishy smell and with less no pickpockets!

Glitter. Yes, she had been told there would be glitter, but Lucille hadn't expected those quantities. She hoped it wouldn't stick to her new dress. It had cost more than she could afford, really, but she felt quite beautiful wearing it. She was used to long-sleeved dresses, so this one was rather brave.

The decor was interesting. At least there were no rats.

Cassandra was not the sort to go out and waste money endlessly on clothes, so the dress she was wearing was no different than the conservative - if pretty - dark purple one she had worn to the previous dance.

She also still looked less than thrilled about the dance-ness of the dance. Or the--

Dante wore tight jeans and a black Combichrist top, which is to say he dressed exactly the way he dressed day to day anyway.

He showed up by himself, immediately zoned in on the food, and wandered over thataway.

That was indeed a metric fuckton of glitter at the dance. Enough that there was no way to escape it's terrible wrath.

But Eggsy wasn't too concerned. He'd somehow managed to find a blazer (http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/wennpic/taron-egerton-kingsman-the-secret-service-photocall-04.jpg) of all things in the back of his closet that he knew for a fact that he'd never brought. So it would be sacrificed to the glitter gods for tonight.

And he'd look posh as fuck for his date. Win-win.

Thorin was wearing one of his nicer tunics. One of the few he owned in red tones as his one nod to the strange holiday of Men.

And then gave the glitter an annoyed look. Because that accursed stuff was impossible to get rid of.

Since she'd known the heating was actually working, Isabela had actually gotten herself something resembling a proper dress tonight (though she was still wearing hrr boots under it). It was longer than she usually cared to wear, but it showed off amazing amount of skin and was easy to move in.

Kathy had felt like dressing up tonight; after several weeks of dressing for cold and snow, it was nice to put on something dressy. She wore a red rose in her hair as a nod to the holiday and the diamond anklets Parker had given her over the summer provided a nice bit of sparkle when she walked.

Not that she needed additional sparkles after thirty seconds in the glitter mines, but by this point, she was used to that.

Yay! Dancing! Ringo even liked the glitter. Well, maybe not so much glitter, but a bit of glitter could be fun. She hadn't had a real excuse to dress up since that time Dante had taken her clubbing in Baltimore, which meant that she'd felt like she really needed to go all out.

So she was wearing a a dress that had been in the back of her closet for months. One she had bought wondering if she'd ever decide to actually wear it. Because that was a lot of cleavage. But, whatever, it was a dance. She could be a little adventurous.

That meant high heels, too, of course, and that weird feeling that everything around her had gotten a few inches shorter.

Anders came in, looked over at the glitter, looked down at his black suit, and sighed.

He then proceeded to scoop up a handful of glitter from a miniature snowdrift on the floor and drop it into his hair. It was all going to end up there anyhow, so he might as well get it over with on his own terms.

April had a lacy red party dress and heels with little red bows on them, along with her customary bow in her hair. And so much glitter on her person, obviously.

It was a lot of red for a redhead, but she pulled it off.

She was smiling, because that was what you did when you were April, and surveying the majestic accomplishments of her fellow Student Council members.

Cosima admired the creativity of the theme; she hadn't been in Fandom quite long enough to get sick of the glitter.

She'd worn a deep green dress with a lacy bodice to the dance, and she swished her hips absently to feel the skirt twirl as she took in the room.

Well, at least the color of Ada's dress fit the nautical theme! Her dress for Homecoming might have been ethereal, but this time it was the carnie who came out to play.

Especially since now she knew how much glitter these things had. With body-glitter covering her chest and arms, plus what StuCo had strewn around, no one was going to notice her scales.

Ezra showed up already pre-glittered. That, or he'd just been very fast at fitting in. Whichever it was, it went well with his sharp suit. He looked good.

Rey had never been to a dance before, and she was curious. She was also slightly embarrassed that she was not at all dressed for this, but not embarrassed enough to slink away. She'd stay and maybe have fun and definitely collect glitter without meaning to.

Jalian sighed at the sheer amount of glitter all around, and the noise of the music, but it was nice enough to see everybody, and a celebration wasn't a bad reason for a gathering.

She was wearing a white pantsuit with white leather boots, her hair in a neat braid behind her.

She sniffed at the food, found some that seemed safe enough, and nibbled on it as she looked around.

There was the usual Fandom spread, and bowls of punch (here was probably at least one that Frank hadn't gotten to yet).

And see, the edible glitter meant you didn't have to pick it off.

It took a while for Lucille to realize that the glitter was edible, so at first she tried picking it off, looking displeased. Eventually she gave up, and found out that the effort had been wasted.

Eventually Lucille decided to find a corner and watch others enjoy themselves. Dancing in this time wasn't, it turned out, to her taste, and even if it had been there was no one she cared much to dance with.
