Stark Industries, Monday

Early in the morning, the machine was done. Jessica had JARVIS run through the process three different times to make sure that none of the changes they made would affect the functionality based on the plans SWORD sent along, Each time, JARVIS confirmed that the machine was working properly. And once that was confirmed, Jessica attached one final addition. As soon as the embryo was pulled out and confirmed to not be the person's liver or something, it would take three seconds before being portaled away to the same empty universe the rest of the Brood had been sent to.

"JARVIS, one more mass e-mail. Tell the people to come here for embryo extraction. And send another message to the Trooper station. Get some escorts if anyone is worried about getting here from down the street with a person showing too many Brood symptoms. If anyone me, I'll be at my desk napping until someone comes in. Good work, team!"

[OOC: For the machine build team who may or may not have worked through the night, that's up to them! No shame if people needed sleep. Also for the infected people who need to get an alien popped out of them! Or for people who just want to visit. Maybe bring coffee.]

Rey's face was smudged with oil and she was very tired, but feeling pretty accomplished.

And relatively sure she could handle helping someone monstery out without a fight. That was more on them than her.

"So apparently Pepto?" Bo said as she stumbled in looking kind of like she wanted to hurl, largely because she in fact wanted to hurl. "Not actually a cure for alien babies."

Even for people who could usually cure almost anything by sucking the lifeforce out of somebody's face-among-other-anatomical-options. Might've helped if she'd tried sucking anything besides the face of an alien babydaddy, of course.

"It's really not," Cosima said sympathetically. "I'm hearing Tums aren't much good either."

"Good to know." In Fandom, that wasn't just banter; it really was worth filing away for next time, because there was always a next time. "I can usually heal from most things on my own, so I don't tend to do a lot of OTC comparison shopping."

"Well, you probably don't get injected with alien embryos that often either," Cosima reasoned. "So it's sort of a unique situation all around. How are you feeling so far?"

Cosima was flying on Red Bull and adrenaline by this point. It hadn't been easy, but they had done it, and she was proud to be there.

She had been so engrossed in her work she hadn't noticed the island taking off. She was going to have a surprise coming when she looked out the window.

"Honestly?" Cosima said, blinking. "This is going to sound awful, but I'm fine. It feels great to be able to help people like this. All I need is a shower and a nap once the Red Bull wears off."

Ada was definitely looking a bit on the Brood-y side today, and she hesitated at the door. "Wait, why were we coming here?" she asked herself under her breath, trying to hold on to her train of thought though the hivemind clamor in her brain. "I forgot."

It wasn't to conquer the island, which is what the Brood wanted her to do. Or make them scream in terror (it was down for that, too). To find her siblings, maybe? No, dammit, she was an only child and Ada had made the decision to come to Stark's for...some reason, and her Broodling was just going to have to deal with it.

She'd get herself into the line for extraction... eventually. Probably. It was just taking some internal wrangling to be able to get herself inside the building, and not just run off and kill people.

"Ada, hi," Cosima said, face drawn with concern. "Did you want to come in?"

She hoped the girl would. She didn't want to have to chase anyone down.

"Yes, I just can't remember why," Ada said, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. She didn't have the best long-term memory to start with, and the hivemind wasn't helping matters.

Gwen had been able to keep the Brood in her head just quiet enough to get the hell out of dodge and the hell into Stark's as soon as she was able. She didn't look pretty, and she didn't care.

"This is stupid, get it out of me, I want to kill things."

Granted, that was also kind of Gwen's normal state.

Ever have a half-Brood person stare you down? Well, if not, it was happening now.

Skaar was starting to have some troubles with the whole Brood thing. His healing factor was holding up and even mostly fixed his attempts at self-administered exploratory surgery (that is, stabbing himself to try to kill the Brood inside him, which didn't quite work) had barely scarred by this point. But it was time to go to the experts.

Between both his size and toughness, Skaar knew the machine wouldn't do him much good. He knew he would be weaker when he transformed and that his healing factor would stop working, but he had to do it. And that's why a giant person transformed suddenly into a kid, the size of a typical 15 year old. One who was taking the giant sword off his back and tossing it down before he doubled over in pain.

Awesome day. He could use some help.

There was enough Pinkie left in Pinkie that when she heard the extraction machine was up and running, she didn't have to be dragged along to get treated.

She did try to make Sir Lintalot, Rocky, Mr. Turnip, and Madam Le Flour go first, though.

Eliot had spent a very restless, very stressful night in the clinic, growing increasingly worried about Parker and Hardison turning into full-on creepy alien bugs and running off to invade the Earth without him. He blamed the fact that he was almost more disappointed with the 'without him' part on the concussion.

When he found out the actual machine that would make them better was at Stark's instead of the clinic, he put in a very carefully vague call to Parker about there being brood activity there, in hopes that the two of them would show up. At least he'd managed to get his hands on Parker's taser. If he set it to the lowest setting and just used it to herd Hardison and Parker to the machine like they were cattle, he was pretty sure he wouldn't feel too guilty about hurting them. . . .

Parker came in with Hardison, arm-in-arm, looking squirrelly. Well. More squirrelly than usual.

"Is this where we're meeting to take over the Island and fly us back to Earth and conquer the planet?" she checked, looking around hopefully. It was debatable what Parker-brain had figured out, but the Brood side of her was all for world domination today.

And Hardison was ALL IN for the world domination. "Looks like a suitable place," he said, glancing around. "The important question is how many humans do we ger to kill while we're down there. This host is frustrating as hell."

Anders was suspicious when he showed up, and watched some others go through before he went through the process himself.

It had to be done -- there was no doubt about that -- but some part of him dreaded being stuck with just his own thoughts. His own thoughts were bad.
