When they got married, Kitty figured she and Climt would just celebrate that anniversary. Buuuut they hadn't gotten to that yet, and four years was nothing to scoff at, so they were celebrating.

And as they waited for their food, Kitty asked, "Do you think there'll ever come a time when getting to another year doesn't feel impressive?"

"Impressive because we're still together, or impressive because we're both still here and in one piece?" Clint asked. "I figure by this point, we know each other's flaws well enough to know we're in this for the long haul."

"Both. I know this is a forever thing, but I still want to pat us on the back," she explained. "Also I have no flaws."

It was a blatant lie.

"It's okay, I have enough for the both of us." Clint laughed and reached for her hand over the table. "I'll always back you up on celebrating how awesome we are. Especially given how many chances we've had to be permanently turned into something weird."

"I'd blame Fandom but we're just as likely to get it in either of our worlds, too," Kitty said, squeezing his hand. "How are we as normal as we are?"

"We've worked very very very hard," Clint said with a laugh. He tightened his hold on Kitty's hand and grinned at her. "I think we keep each other grounded. I could have ended up a lot weirder without you to be normal around."

"You really could have," Kitty laughed. "My you apparently asked Emma out once. That's weird."

That was canon. And it was three times.

This Clint made a grossed out face and shook his head. "Your version of me is even more of a masochist. I always figured I was the evil twin, you know? It's good to know I was wrong."

[throughaphase]

"You are so not an evil twin. You're the responsible, settled twin," Kitty told him. "Go figure."

[so_hawkward]

"Yeeeah, that's never gonna not be weird," Clint said. "I'll tell you this too, I can't believe we've been in this town for as long as we have either."

"How have we not run screaming?" Kitty asked, genuinely curious. She'd been here nearly five years and showed up right before the Nothing. And she stayed.

"Hey, there's been screaming. Like when we wake up in the wrong kind of body. Or one of us is a kid," Clint pointed out. He'd survived Umbridge and stayed; it was funny what having orders did. "Again, having someone to stick around for has kind of changed my usual MO."

"Same. Considering that's why I came here in the first place," Kitty admitted. "And then all the feelings and sense of personal responsibility happened."

[so_hawkward]

"Yeah, I do feel kind of responsible for things around here. Not as much as if I was still teaching, but looking out for the kids and making sure things stay okay. Are you excited about your class?" Clint asked.

[throughaphase]

"Yeah. I kind of like going back to teaching after a summer off. But then, I grew up a nerd," Kitty said. A nerd who didn't get the real school experience for very long. "This is where I just hope I don't screw up history."

[so_hawkward]

"Honestly, you could screw it up and just explain that it's how the history works in your world,"
Clint said. "Most of the kids will just go with that."

"Okay, maybe you're a little bit evil twin," Kitty laughed. "I could just do more research..."
