Demon Marcus, Sunday
Sparkle felt a little weird about coming in to work while his roomie was a younger, more paranoid, armed version of himself. But he'd left him a note - in Aurebesh - saying to help himself to whatever was in the fridge (the stuff in the clear containers with the snap-on lids was already cooked) and giving him directions on how to find him in case he had any questions or needed to wave that blaster in his face some more or... whatever.
He probably would have not bothered, but he wanted to get paycheques written up, and since his employees were both already about the same age as Jaq, he figured they probably wouldn't appreciate a defense of 'the island did a thing' so much if their pay came late.
Then again, he could probably have bribed them with stuffed animals and alcohol...
Ah well, too late for that, anyway. Demon Marcus was open.
[OOC: And screw the OCD!]

And the upside of Demon Marcus was that Sparkle knew Ades, too.
He nudged open the door with a foot, then elbowed his way in. "Yo, Sparkle," he called.

Unless he was going to wave a weapon at Sparkle too, but considering the greeting, Sparkle doubted that was going to be an issue. He peered up from where he was signing Ada and Alluka's paycheques, and gave Dante a grin and a wave of his hand.
"How goes it, man?"
no subject
Maybe it'd already been, even. Ada hadn't been specific.

Because of course Sparkle had two favourite employees. Funny how that worked.

He lifted his chin at the store. "But I'm also gonna need a birthday gift."
no subject
"Well, we can do birthday gifts," he decided. "You were thinking of getting it from here, then?"
no subject
"I'm hitting up most places in town," he admitted. "But I figured I'd stop by here first. You know her."

So now he was walking through the streets, peering in windows and checking things out.

The cheekbones helped, too. Damn. He blinked, and then held up a finger at the boy and made his way around to peer out the door at him.
"Uh, hey," he greeted, blinking. "New in town?"

"You look kind of like somebody who lives in town," he explained. "Doctor Lecter? He's, um..."
He waved a hand around a little.
"A doctor?"
Duh, Sparkle. Duh.
"I don't suppose the name rings any bells?"
no subject
Or anyone, come to that.
no subject
"Sorry, I don't mean to be weird and corner you or whatever," he offered. "Dr. Lecter's been kind of like a parent to me. But if you don't really know him, um..."
He shrugged.
"Hey. I'm Sparkle. No, really."
no subject
He eyed the other boy - Sparkle - a bit longer, then finally swallowed to clear his throat and offered, "Hannibal."

Weekends like this had a funny way of following the same sort of script.

He huffed into the clothing store, his shorts coming down past his knees (yay for belts) and his shirt hanging off him.
"Sparkle!" He grinned and then pouted, holding up his arms. "It happened again!"
no subject
"Maybe the island thinks it's a good look on you," he offered, grinning. "If it helps any, I think it's something going around, this weekend."

Okay, Jaq was older than that. But, like, comparatively. Or something.
"Seems like it might just be a weekend thing, at least."

no subject
... Kind of like he was, admittedly.
Adulthood was weird.
"If it's just another island weekend thing, at least you might be back to normal and not having to belt your pants up again by, like, tomorrow?"
no subject
He smiled at Sparkle. "But how are you doing? I don't think I've said hi since I came back. Hi!"
no subject
Sure, Spark.
