Demon Marcus, Thursday Afternoon

Ada opened up the store after her classes, immediately digging in to the shipment of scarves from Sunday, trying them on and burying herself in a pile of warm and fluffy.

Look, you cope with your incoming family in your way, Ada was going to build a soft and cozy fort.

Demon Marcus was open, and the mermaid is...somewhere in the scarf-pile.

Roscoe stomped in around late afternoon, wearing high heeled combat boots that really made the 'stomping' part clear.

"I need a dress," he whined in the general direction of where he thought a person might be. He was pretty sure Ada worked here, but it was hard to tell because of the scarf pile.

Yes! An Ada!

Roscoe pondered the question. "Frilly and slutty," he decided. "Something to make my mom really uncomfortable spending time with me. Do you have any of those?"

"She thinks the whole 'girls' clothes' thing is kinda stupid," he sighed. "She acts like she thinks it's cool, but she thinks it's stupid. I wanna rub it in her face."

"Dude, you don't have to tell me," Roscoe assured her. "Gender on people isn't real, so it sure as shit isn't real on clothes." He plucked a scarf from the pile and tried to decide if he liked it or not. Nah. "Mom thinks I'm trying to be trendy or something. She's pretty much an asshole, actually."

He actually liked her, but still.

"That's catchy. Is that from one of those Kenneth Cole ads?" Roscoe wondered, grinning at her. He tossed the scarf he'd been playing with back onto the pile. "Knew I could count on you."
