Groovy Tunes, Friday
Dante had a ticket to get outta here a little later in the afternoon, but his general grudging 'okay fine you did this for me' respect for Starsmore did not extend to showing up to work early to compensate for leaving early. Sorry. He arrived around the usual time and snagged his favorite guitar out of the display, put on some inspirational tunes...
... and tried to work out some basic Green Day on guitar like he and Starsmore had talked about.
Look, the combination of songs made sense in his head. Probably not in anyone else's.

She came in, her unnecessarily high heels clicking against the floor, and poor NPC lugging a heavy-looking cardboard box trailing behind her. (And just for a moment, there was a faint new addition to the already busy musical landscape of the store.)
"Jonothon not in today?"
You had your greetings, Envy had hers.

Huh. She was hot. Not that that was a surprise around here, but still worth noting.

The look she was giving him turned vaguely critical for just a second. "Well, you'll do." Wasn't as if she'd tried very hard to show up on one of Jono's days, anyway. It would've just been a nice bonus. She gave her poor assistant a simple nod, and he went ahead and set the box down on the counter. "I have a delivery."

That's why she'd had help with her! Help, who was now leaving because his job here was done. Meanwhile, she flicked open the box and picked up one of the CD cases within.
Seemed like it'd make her point for her if she just held that up with the cover facing him. Since it had her face and the word ENVY on it.

Look, Dante may have picked up one of those records before.

"Yeah."

"Come here often?" he joked.
Sort of joked.
Look, there was an edge to it, too.
no subject
Far be it from Envy to not give a straight answer to a joke.

"Former Fandom resident, too," she replied lightly, by her standards.

But he leaned idly against the counter as soon as he'd walked around it. "You look it," he said, which sounded slightly like a compliment. "Bet you have stories too."

She wasn't saying she was interested. But she'd also heard about the Knives thing.

It wasn't like Dante had actually thought she'd go for it. But hey, if you had a superstar indie darling in your store, you had to at least try, right?

Since, you know, she was alive and accounted for, while Todd was dead and Lynette was MIA somewhere without her arm.

He pushed away from the counter. "Mind if I toss one in the stereo right now?"
no subject
It'd be a while before she'd tire of her own music.
