Sparkle was in a great mood after getting back from that vacation, thank you all very much. He was feeling relaxed and refreshed, and actually had the wherewithal to rifle through the shop's old paperwork from way back, to see if any of it was old enough to be shredded. Or, rather, thrown into the burn barrel, as it were. The itch for spring cleaning had apparently hit him early.

As if he wasn't fastidiously tidy all the time anyway.

"Oh, huh. This place used to be called Pixie Dust?" He glanced at one of the mannequins. "I kind of like it."

You want clothes, you just don't want help!

He's here, no matter how much paperwork he's got stacked up around him!

It had very suddenly got a lot colder overnight, and if Hera was going to be staying here for a bit, she figured she might as well get some local clothes to blend in a bit.

So, she found this place and she came in, looking around. Wow. Local style seemed to incorporate...a lot.

"You look lost." See Sparkle. See Sparkle looking with a sort of polite curiosity at the Twi'lek girl as she stepped into his shop. "And new. Hey, is there anything I can help you with?"

"New, yes; lost, no," Hera answered, smiling. "Just..." she waved at the clothes. "Are all of these the local style?"

"Okay, not lost, just overwhelmed," Sparkle translated, laughing and shaking his head. "See, funny thing about this place? There's really no local style. So I try to carry a bit of everything, for people who show up from wherever and who don't feel comfortable showing skin or hair or who maybe need differently sized hoods so that their lekku don't freeze in the wintertime."

He tilted his head at her a bit.

"So... I wouldn't sweat it too much over the style, seriously. Just wear what you're comfortable with, we probably carry it."

Hera shrugged. "I was hoping to blend in a bit more." Which was seeming more promising, since this guy had known what lekku were instead of asking her what she was.

She smiled. "Though a hood would be nice. It wasn't this cold when I got here!"

"Winter can be a little bit like that," Sparkle replied, nodding. "It's almost over, but we'll still have a few months left of it to go, you know?"

Maybe she didn't, if she was new. Huh. He slipped out from behind the counter anyway, making his way over to the winter gear.

"I had some coats with bigger hoods brought in after I wound up doing modifications on a coat for a Togruta girl at the school," he shared, rifling through the supply. "There should be some Twi'lek friendly stuff around here, too."

"Thank you," she said, smiling. "I'm Hera, by the way. And I have no idea what month it is here."

"I'm Sparkle," he replied, giving Hera a little grin. "And we're coming up the last few days of February."

He paused, and then helpfully added, "We have twelve month years and seven day weeks, here, by the way."

Instead of the ten months and five days that she might be used to.

"Our years are almost as long as yours, just a few days short, we just break 'em up a little differently."

Hera blinked and took that in. "Okay, that's a little weird. You sound like you know a lot about my galaxy, though."

"Yeah," Sparkle replied, shrugging his shoulders. "I've spent some time there. My roomie's one of those pilot types. Has a nice ship and everything."

Sparkle was a little bit in love with the Ebon Hawk.

"There's a bit to get used to, but there are still some things that are weirdly familiar all the same, you know?"

Hera smirked. "I'd like to meet him. I'm a bit of a 'pilot type' myself. And...I'm learning some of the weird, though I haven't really seen much familiar yet."

"His name's Atton," Sparkle offered. "He teaches sharpshooting at the school, and he's... like, out of town a lot, but if you ever want to stop by for, like, caf sometime while he's around, I can introduce you. We live over in the MCA, if you know where that is?"

"That's where I'm staying too, for the moment," Hera said. "With Kanan Jarrus. Though I may just move back to my ship; I haven't decided yet."

Kanan was nice, but she hated to take too much advantage.

"Wait - I thought you didn't have caf here?"

Kanan had certainly made sure to buy enough of it.

"We don't," Sparkle replied, shrugging. "I get Atton to do the shopping whenever he goes back home, you know? He bitches enough about stuff like nerf that I figure he can supply it, too. I just figure out how to cook it from there."

"Kanan insisted on buying groceries before we left," Hera said, still a bit amused. "Caf, nerf, jogan fruit. I haven't tried the local equivalents yet."

"Coffee, beef, and..." Sparkle paused, blinking. "Actually, I have no idea what jogan fruit is. But if you're curious about coffee, I can brew some while we browse clothes for you?"

"Sure, why not?" Hera said. She had thought this would be a quick trip, but with all the variety here...maybe not.

"Cool," Sparkle said, flashing Hera a grin. "Then I'll put some water on. I... was going to ask if instant coffee was okay, but I guess you have, like, no basis for comparison anyway."

It wasn't really all that different. Some people were just snobs, dammit.

True enough! Navi's got herself some pudge, I need to tease her for it. ;)
