The Boards, Sunday Afternoon

Another weekend, another band practice? Or something like it, anyway.

//We need songs,// Jono announced to anyone who might have showed up today. //Does anybody write, or at least have a favourite song they'd like us to try?//

The band didn't have a name - Jono was pretty sure the only person who wanted to call it Kuzco! was Kuzco - but that was not an insurmountable thing. The important thing was music, anyway. Right?

With the usual pile of junk food on the way in.

It was a tired-looking Dante who showed up, guitar slung over his shoulder, and started digging into the food.

It'd been a Saturday.

Lucille showed up with some sheet music, none of which would be suitable for the band. She was however prepared to play other songs.

As long as they weren't horrible.

What... what songs do we want to play? Do you write? Does anyone here write besides Jono and Hannibal? Dear god, what has Jono gotten himself into?

Despite Hannibal's and Jono's encouragement, Lucille hadn't yet written any music herself. She was certain that whatever she wrote would be better than what the others could accomplish - apart from Hannibal and Jono - so she might as well take the plunge. Preferably before the llama.

"I would be happy to try and write some songs."

//I'd love to hear anything you might come up with,// Jono replied, giving Lucile an encouraging nod. //Hell, if at any point you'd like somebody to co-write with, I'm usually free, and I'm certain Hannibal would love to give it a go, as well.//

Co-writing was kind of fun. And a great way to learn, at that.

"I've never written for anything other than harpsichord, piano, or theremin," Hannibal said. "But perhaps between the two of us we could come up with something more suitable for a band."

//I'm certain we could,// Jono agreed. //Something to do with all of that spare time I've got? I'll take it. And we can run it by everybody next week, make certain it's not too ambitious or... not... not ambitious enough?//

Too unambitious? Ah, whatever. So long as there was a part for a triangle, huh?

We do music here. Might as well give it a try and see what people can contribute to whatever you want to play, right?
