The piece of paper in Tamsin's hands was definitely some kind of nerdy crap, she was sure of it. Still, it was their best shot at at least getting the island back to somewhere that had actually decent bars.

She eyed the weird rocks embedded into the wall by Galactica Point. "I always thought some kid with too much time and no basement to fester in had come up with this," she muttered. She glanced over her shoulder at the waiting hordes. "Okay, here we go. Up, up, down, down--"

Oh god. It really was nerdy crap.

"Son of a --" That was a very distinctive venom drip. Eliot was seriously considering adding body armor to his daily wardrobe.

Eliot jerked back and yanked the door closed, but one of the creatures managed to get to the door first. It let out an undignified squawk and several more managed to squeeze out through the gap.

"At least you don't have to worry about 'em biting you!"

Kitty held out her hand. "I can phase you."

Because seriously no one should have to deal with bites from one of those.

Eliot kicked one of the green squirrels away, glad he was wearing his steel toes, and took her hand. "Doesn't solve the problem for everyone, but hell, I'll take it for now."

He would be no good to anyone if he was hallucinating.

"If they hold on, too, I can phase them," Kitty said matter-of-factly, phasing him along with her. She waited till till a squirrel was on her foot before unphasing just that and knocking it into the wall. "There will be no squirrel-gremlin bites on my watch!"

Eliot dodged out of the way of another squirrel — only for another one to run straight through his ankle.

"Yup, that's freaky." He shook his head. "If ever run out of thinks to be weirded out by on this island, I'll know I've been here too long."
