Taako looked insulted. Excuse you, he was a great wizard. "Level three spell, animate dead. The spell creates an undead servant so long as it's a pile of bones or a corpse of a medium or small humanoid within range."

And yet try as his DM might, Taako still always managed to come up with a game breaking spell.

"My pack is cinnamon," Taako said. "The flavor lasts awhile. I never actually used it for it's purpose but it kept my breath fresh while on a date."

Not that he rounded any bases with Kravitz that night. But still, he had been ready.

"Well it went for 200 gp's in my neck of the woods." Taako rifled under the counter until he came up with a laminated piece of paper. "Which according to this handy converter Garfield made for me is...forty American dollars."

Dollars. What a stupid sounding currency.

There was no such thing as a not-stupid sounding currency. Jenkins had lived to see dozens of them come and go.

"So you chewed through eight dollars worth of magic simply to freshen your breath," Jenkins noted. "You must have been quite anxious to get laid indeed."

"It's not every day a person gets to go on a date with Death." Even if Death wasn't exactly aware that it had been a date until wine and pottery got involved.

"It's not every individual who'd care to," Jenkins noted. "Which I suppose must make Death quite lonely in some ways."

Jenkins himself wouldn't know. As an immortal, he'd never made Death's acquaintance, personally.

"And you said you've never actually made use of the purported magical abilities of this product. How can you guarantee its efficacy on that front?"
