When Kanan came in to work today, there were the usual pancake stacks, yes, but the cook was also hard at work carefully arranging a bunch of the pancakes, layering various fruit fillings between them, and icing a bunch of them up like birthday cakes.

Of course, Kanan made the mistake of asking, "What's the occasion?"

Apparently there didn't need to be an occasion to make birthday cakes out of pancakes, and Kanan had to contend with disgruntled side-eyes all day.

Fine. See if he cared. He was still going to eat like half of one of the cook's weird cakes before the day was through, just watch.

Hannibal rode in the door, which somehow just opened for him and his bicycle.

He rode to one end of the diner, still speaking in some other language, jumped the bike effortlessly to ride down the counter around the dishes and food, then landed on the floor without a break and kept going, right back out the door.

Kanan stared, both at Hannibal's impressive bike jump and at whatever the hell it was that he was doing, and while he couldn't quite understand the Danish coming out of the man's mouth, he did know one thing.

"E chu ta, Lecter, people eat off that counter!"

So, the next ten minutes after Hannibal left were going to be spent clearing off the counter and giving it a complete scrub down. Eesh.

"Bus Driver Guy!" And in came Summer, with her customary greeting, plopping I'm what was maybe totally becoming her usual seat at the counter, and in a very good mood for no longer being turquoise. Not that it was a bad color; it actually complimeneed her quite nicely. But it was...you know....weird.

"Sandwich me, please!"

"That can be arranged," Kanan chuckled, throwing her a thumbs-up at that. "Got any preference, there?"

They were flexible, here.

"Mmmmm...." Summer thought about it a little. You'd think she'd already know, it wasn't like she was surprised to end up in here, but, well, you know.

"BLT," she finally decided. "Thanks. Did you get caught by any of that weird rain earlier this weekend?"

Maaaaybe she liked picturing a Kanan in bright neon pink, okay?

"Had to walk the dog," Kanan agreed. "And he didn't seem to mind the rain at all, so we were out in it for a while. I learned that I look pretty damn good in green."

And many various other colors, yeah. But green.

He sent the order to the back, and then settled in for a conversation.

"So, how goes it this week?"
