Dante was in a weird mood as he tooled around the store today. Whatever tunes he came up with whenever he had time to sit down with the guitar kinda showed it: acoustic takes on aggrotech songs interspersed with some weird shit.

He was pretty sure his brain had even dragged up some Alanis Morissette, somewhere.

Truth was, he should be cheerful, 'cause he was taking Ada out soon to make her feel better. But the situation with Kat was weighing on his mind, as was Kathy. And for eight long hours, there wasn't an Anders to quiet his thoughts.

So he bustled and poked at the guitars, until his fingers found a familiar old tune.

Yeah, well, hopefully he needed a break sooner or later, because it was National Donut Day, and Ada needed to share with people and Dante was on her way back from town...

For the record, it was way easier to get the door open with a giant box of donuts than when carrying ice cream.

"Special Delivery," she called, hoisting the box above her head. "All hail th' Donut Queen!"

Dante's head shot up in mild surprise. He blinked a few times. "Hail the Donut Queen?" he tried, attempting a little welcome-riff on the guitar.

"M' phone tells me it's National Donut Day," Ada explained, grinning. "Figured that meant I needed t' get a bunch an' share 'em."

Eating donuts alone wasn't as much fun as sharing!

"Think I can manage donuts for all three meals today an' not get sick?"

"Just as long as you make sure two out of three are savory," Dante said. He pushed the strap of the guitar over his head and set the instrument down.

"I think I can manage that. I told 'em t' give me some of everything," she said, plopping down on the floor unceremoniously and flipping the box open. "Dig in. If'n we eat 'em all, I'll just go back for more."

Mermaids needed munchies, and she was pretty sure Dante was a bottomless pit. Ada had already thought this through.

"Nice," Dante said. He sank down on the floor next to her, reaching out to snag a jelly donut as fast as he possibly could. "Thanks, Ades."

"You bring me lunch lots," she replied with a shrug. "An' treats are more fun with friends than alone."

She waved her sprinkle-covered donut for emphasis. "Thought about tryin' t' make my own donuts, but that seemed like more work than fun. Gonna save m' cooking-energies for makin' more glitter."

Because, well, Ada. Priorities.

"You could try making glitter donuts," Dante offered meditatively. He bit into the snack, and... mm. Strawberry.

"Oooh, that'd be fun," she said, tilting her head to the side as she thought about it. "Maybe I'll do that next, once I figure out how t' do that strawberry glitter I promised you. We can make a list of foods that need glitter."

"And a list of foods that should be glitter," Dante said merrily. "Sounds like a plan. Y'know, for after our Baltimore trip."

"I should finish th' regular glitter b'fore our trip," Ada laughed. "Maybe a rainbow of colors...when does th' city do Pride?"

...that was a terrible idea, Ada, letting a bunch of be-glittered Fandomites -- especially these ones -- loose on Baltimore Pride.

"... You know, I have no idea," Dante said, whipping out his phone to check just that.

"If it's now, we go now, if'n it's later, then we get a second trip!" she decided, grinning. "Maybe I rope 'Bela into helpin' me glitter everyone up just right..."

"Seventeenth of June," Dante announced, holding up his phone. "We got time."

"Sweet," Ada said, leaning forward to snag another donut. "I ain't never been, but it looks like fun. Though with that many Townies around I definitely gotta have someone help me with m' glitter."

She'd been lazy, lately, figuring that if people around Fandom actually caught a glimpse of scale that they'd chalk it up to Fandom Weird. But around that many Townies, she was going to have to actually be careful.

"Happy to do your glitter if you do mine," Dante said, grinning. "... I wonder if Anders would want any."
