There were chili lights draped over everything, and Kenzi might have been working on some flaming shots again. Tino was waaaay over there, and disclaimed all responsibility.

"Hi," she said, "how's it going? Sorry about the roof."

"Are you kidding? This is amaze-balls," Kenzi said, marveling at the lack of ceiling. "We should stuff a shark and put it over the bar!"

"That's absolutely happening for the grand reopening party now, but maybe not until the reno's done," Kitty decided.

"You know how long that's going to take yet?" Kenzi asked, pouring Kitty a blue, glowy shot.

"Not sure yet. I know some contractors who can do it-" Scott had contractors on retainer at the Xavier Institute. "-but I'm working on getting quotes and figuring out insurance and money stuff. So, it depends."

"If you need me to lie to insurance agents, my door is always open," Kenzi told her very seriously. "Those guys are evil."

"Thanks. If anyone asks you, there were definitely no sharks in here." Seriously, Fandom.

"Evil bikers?" Kenzi suggested. "Evil bikers on meth? And PCP? With chainsaws?"

"I'm going with 'act of god' and I don't know what got thrown in here, really, I don't, please don't let there be bite marks on any of the furniture in the pictures I had to send over," Kitty sighed.

"Have an Electric Shark shot," Kenzi said, pushing one at Kitty. "You deserve it. Also, if I see that guy from that one set of commercials who has seen a thing or two, I'm gonna ask him what he thinks it was. Better chance of getting the payoff then."

Bum ba dum ba dum bum bum!

"Thank you," she said, downing the shot. "We're having those at the party, too."

"Totally. Everybody at your house okay? Husbands, pets, assorted others?"

Gothika the Anonykitty was feasting. As you'd expect.

"Yep, fine there. How's everything by you?" Kitty asked.

"Enh. Some cosmetic damage. Nothing we can't live without for a while." Or, you know, let degenerate still further. "Nobody got hurt, so yaaay, us. I do wonder what caused that stupid storm, but I'm good with it being over."

Liam had stopped in... mostly to see how the cleanup efforts were going, but if the bar was up and running today, well he wasn't going to object.

"Very on-theme," he commented with a smirk. "Nice."

Kenzi smirked back at him, holding up a small flaming glass. "You look new here. Welcome! You want something on fire, something smoky, or something you can identify?"

"New-ish," Liam admitted. "I got here in June, but this weekend was my first major crisis. Let's go with 'on fire', so long as it's not on fire enough to do any more damage to this place."

"You look like a Flaming Blue guy to me," Kenzi decided. "Also, psshfft! Damage, c'mon, that's what insurance is for."

Tino might have been facepalming down the bar at this.

"I don't know if that's how that works, exactly," Liam said as he watched Kenzi put the shot together.

"Oh, you are so cute! And new." Kenzi patted his fingers as she handed over the shot. "You'll learn."

Mostly that if Kenzi was going to defraud someone, they were probably going to be missing things fairly soon.

It would probably help to not publicly announce her intentions, though. Not a terribly sneaky move!

"Is this a good time to mention what exactly it is that I'm doing here in Fandom?" Liam asked, before blowing out the flames and downing the shot.

"Sure. Whatcha doin' here, handsome?"

"Law enforcement. Took over the Trooper Station."

Kenzi's grin morphed into a pout. "Awwww, man."

"Hmmm. How'd I know that's what you'd say?" Because you were a former Resistance member who'd spent the first three years of your life being sneaky, Liam. Took one to know one.

"Fine, fine." Kenzi spread her hands. "Act of god it is. And no one can prove it's not."

Yeah, that lounge is kinda toast, guys.

There might be a TV under there. Somewhere.

Yup, the back room and the lounge are kinda trashed (as per Kitty). There's a tarp over part of it, and renovations will start soon!
