Okay, so Dante was starting to get used to the new place. Didn't mean he didn't kinda miss the walls of records, though.

But today, he was sitting behind the counter with a guitar over his knee, trying out some industrial-style riffs and loops. It kept his mind nice and busy, which he appreciated; occasionally he'd even write something down on a piece of paper.

Dante was going to get a text sometime after noon during his shift. It was a snap of Ada, squinting sleepily up at her phone, with one cat curled up on her head like a strange hat, tail flopping into her face, and the other one draped over her chest like a melodramatic scarf.

cats think 90F weather is a good time to sleep on me. why? idek.

Yes, she was just waking up. Ada was on carnie-time, now. Being up any time before 2pm was being an 'early bird.' Or fish.

Yup. Totally. He was probably just as fine with her being gone as she was with there being no more lunch picnics while one of them was at work.

pretty sure they killed all wildlife in 50' of my trailer in one town. they don't go far, but they're fierce guard cats.
