Nathan gave his head a shake today as he worked on filling the last of the Halloween bouquet orders. Of course he'd gotten in a huge influx of them this morning, from people who had forgotten until last minute just how important it was to have a bushel of wolfsbane in their living room, or a lovely arrangement of witch hazel and cockscomb to present to the object of their affections.
Of course, shaking his head came with its own set of challenges, as he generally had to stop what he was doing, reach over, pick it up from the counter, and just shake it in his hands. But he was resigned to this. The pumpkins left in the shop were too small to carve a proper head to set on his shoulders for the occasion, and it wasn't as though his horse had come to the island with him when he'd been pulled back here.
Headless florist didn't have quite the right ring to it, but if it was his lot in the afterlife, well, Nathan supposed he'd manage.
